The Tank Museum’s King Tiger V2 prototype is unique - the only survivor to have this distinctive turret design, and is currently undergoing a restoration to running order.

🔥 Steel Giants at Soesterberg

This past weekend the Nationaal Militair Museum hosted its annual Zomeroffensief event. Highlights of the tank show: the brute force Soviet IS-3 (Bastogne Barracks), standing toe-to-toe with the Leopard 2A4NL (RCKL). Two very different eras and schools of tank design, brought together in one unforgettable weekend.

📸 Danish Leopard 1A5 DK at the Krigsmuseet, Copenhagen - registration 46.719

Delivered in the first batch of 120 Danish Leopard 1A3 tanks (1976–78), this vehicle was handed over to the troops in 1976 and served with 2nd Squadron, 1st Armoured Battalion, Jutland Dragoon Regiment until 1992.

By 1994 the entirety of Denmark’s Leopard fleet was upgraded to the 1A5 DK standard with the EMES 18 fire control system. The 35 tanks deployed to former Yugoslavia received a subsequent upgrade to "DK-1" standard, introducing an APU and air conditioning. This specimen, however, never received the latter upgrade.

Just published an article on a highly detailed wartime Panther Ausf. D scale model that goes far beyond a typical display piece, featuring a detailed engine bay and signs it may have been remote-controlled!

Its level of accuracy suggests it may have originated from Eisenwerke Oberdonau, which was involved in Panther production. Could it have been built for propaganda, technical training, or something else?
