May has been a month full of elopements and reflections on elopements gone by as I have been re-connecting with couples who married on Skye 10 years ago.

It’s been full of beautiful memories and some great sadness looking at images of precious people no longer with us.

Time and memories are so fleeting - when you have a moment that you treasure hold it close ❤️

Sometimes just one location on the Isle of Skye isn't enough to celebrate your engagement. I put together a trip of locations that blended seamlessly with this couple's itinerary on Skye - hitting some must do highlights of our amazing scenery and exploring some quiet corners that can be overlooked.
We started their day at the glorious volcanic sands of An Corran with the bonus of dinosaur footprint discovery thrown into the mix before hitting the heights of the Quiraing with it's dramatic cliff top views and spectacular light. To end the day we wended our way to the secret waterfall and the soothing sounds of the rushing water and the scent of wild garlic through the ancient forest.

And when I say secret - even I didn’t know it was the couple’s wedding day till we met one misty morning at the Quiraing. They changed into their wedding attire in the car, grabbed some flowers and their vows book and we wandered the trail to the spot that felt just right to exchange special words and their rings.
Honestly, I’ve never encountered this in 16 years and the couple placed an incredible amount of trust in me and my portfolio and I wouldn’t recommend not telling your photographer it’s your wedding day but the dice rolled our way and their most intimate of wedding’s was nothing but unforgettable

A few weeks ago Skye was hit by the most extraordinary snow storm. It came from nowhere and in 12 hours it was gone again. Helena and Pete decided to get married right in the midst of it! They had the most fabulous day at a venue that held great meaning for them and was the perfect cosy spot to shelter from the storm with family and friends. Very often at weddings I make a friend who becomes my assistant for the day and this wedding had a great second photographer- swipe through to see him organising the group shots ! ❤️

Skye put on a very special weekend for Kirsten and Rutger who travelled from the Netherlands with their family and friends for their wedding at followed by hiking in south Skye in the sunshine.

I absolutely loved the style they brought to their day- and their wee boys suit was the cutest thing ever ❤️
