How do you get your point across and make people listen, when they’d rather put their heads in the sand?

It’s a skill we’d all love to have. But right now, on climate, it’s essential.
We can’t afford to not act, so climate stories have got to really connect with people in order make them sit up and take action.

It was a privilege to work with Professor Peter Newell, Dr Melissa Lazenby, Dr Mika Peck and at last month’s Better World event and help them tell their personal stories of sustainability, biodiversity, innovation and hope.

They used humour, warmth, stage presence, great writing and no little oratorical skill, to leave their audience enlightened, engaged and - hopefully - active.

Elizabeth Ockford is a luxury wallpaper designer based in Sussex. StoryScreen worked with her to create a video marketing campaign for her new range 'The Garden'.

We created three levels of video content, 2 minute introductions to each design in the range, Instagram reels and further longform videos such as this one showing in detail how she creates each piece.

It's pretty relaxing watching her work her magic. Enjoy.

The University of Sussex, Anxiety UK and Professor Sam Cartwright-Hatton needed a video for social to engage participants for a new study into parents who experience anxiety. This was a quick turnaround, and I shot and edited the piece within 2 days. I worked with Sam and interview subject Darren to craft their messages and coach natural, engaging performances.

The University put the content out on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

In April 2021 a number of leading nature writers, enviromentalists and scientists came together to petition the Government to ban peat from commercial compost and garden centres. They commissioned StoryScreen to create this brief campaign video for social with Professor Dave Goulson of the University of Sussex. It accrued 13k views on Instagram and their accompanying letter was reported across national media.
