Sunrise in Brighton, with thanks to the app. I wouldn’t have found this location without it!
Wikipedia: The West Pier is a ruined pier in Brighton, England. It was designed by Eugenius Birch and opened in 1866. It was the first pier to be Grade I listed in England but has become increasingly derelict since its closure to the public in 1975. As of 2025 only a partial metal framework remains.

The Basilica Cistern is the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that lie beneath the city of Istanbul, Turkey. The cistern, located 150 metres (490 ft) southwest of the Hagia Sophia on the historical peninsula of Sarayburnu, was built in the 6th century during the reign of Byzantine emperor Justinian. Today it is kept with little water, for public access inside the space.
Does anyone know which James Bond movie was filmed here?

The recent awarding of the ‘Photo of the Year’ by Reynolds Journalism Institute at the Missouri School of Journalism has sparked controversy and outrage. One of the winning photos, featuring the dead body of Shani Louk, a victim of the 10/7 massacre, is not only disrespectful but also raises ethical concerns about photojournalism. Some photographers involved are even suspected to have had prior knowledge about these tragic events. We call upon Nikon, as the main sponsor of this award, to publicly denounce this award-winning photo and demand that Reynolds Journalism Institute revoke this award immediately. This action will send a strong message about respecting human dignity and ethical standards in journalism. It will also take a stand against antisemitism. Sign this petition now to urge Nikon to take action on this matter.

The Tyne and Millennium bridges, and the Sage Centre.

The most famous bridge ever constructed by a Teesside company was Dorman Long's Sydney Harbour Bridge of 1932, of similar construction to but, contrary to popular belief, not modelled on the 1928 Tyne Bridge, a construction regarded as the symbol of Tyneside's Geordie pride, but also a product of Dorman Long's Teesside workmanship. The greatest example of Dorman Long's work in Teesside itself is the single-span Newport Lifting Bridge (a Grade II Listed Building). Opened by the Duke of York in February 1934 it was England's first vertical lift bridge.
