Just down the road from Uffington is a small area of woodland called the Foxcover, or Uffington Gorse.

In the 80s it was almost entirely cut down to be turned into farmland, but the land was purchased by the Woodland Trust, and slowly replanted and restored over time.

Started and ended our Croatian holiday in Split.

These high-sided twisting alleys are beautiful and really fun to explore. Lots of hidden cafes, bars, and public squares.

Highly recommend visiting if you haven’t been, though we didn’t get time to see much else other than the old town and waterfront. Talking of which, the harbour is full of enormous yachts which I’d very much like to have a look at inside.. but apparently poking a 3 meter selfie stick through a window isn’t allowed? Strange.
