A couple more of the Barn Owls last week, this time of the owlets, in their nest box. Amazing to see the young birds literally just before they fledge. The bird in the "front" of the box fledged not 5 minutes after my taking these pictures when the camera was back in the bag - still incredible to witness!!

There's more to Skomer Island that Puffins you know....there's also a very healthy colony of these beauts: Razorbills. A member of the Auk family, these will already be leaving Skomer around this time of the year, they nest on cliff ledges and their young will be making a death defying leap to the sea accompanied by the Male bird.

Hello again! It's been a while!

Yet again, I'm talking about how long it's been since I've been out with the camera, feels like the gap between getting out with the camera has been even longer this time!

Anyway, after two years of trying to get over to Skomer Island, we finally made it across last weekend. It didn't disappoint (it never does to be honest!) and it's safe to say I've a fair through shots to work through!

Hope you’re all keeping well. Apologies for the radio silence, things have been a bit busy! It’s been great to get out with the camera over the summer. During a recent trip to Pembrokeshire, an evening walk to Broad Haven in dull light gave way to this magnificent sunset, the colours were something else! Hopefully Facebook hasn’t compressed the image quality, I’ve done very little processing to the image, the colours here are what came out of the camera.

Bristol Balloon Fiesta has been something that's been a part of the M2 family calendar for as long as I can remember, unfortunately as with most events over the last 18 months, Covid has put paid to the actual event for the last two summers. However, this summer the organisers have run a 'fiesta fortnight' with balloon launches from various locations across Bristol. The most recent launches today meant that we had a large number across M2 HQ - the light conditions weren't the best but still so spoilt to see so many balloons over the house. Hope you like them!

The M2 Family took a trip to The Wild Place recently and the camera came along too - an amazing place and well worth a visit if you get a chance. Will be interesting to see how the place develops when the Bristol Zoo collection moves there over the next 18 months.

Sometimes, just sometimes you catch a break and today I got lucky. There was a partial Lunar eclipse visible from the UK today and rather typically the sky remained stubbornly cloudy all morning. Just as I'd about given up on getting a shot, we had a very short break in the clouds, just as totality was approaching (OK so it wasn't total here in the UK!), cue me getting the camera all set-up in a rush and I managed to capture the eclipse before the sun disappeared behind the cloud again.....a bit of a strange thing to photograph - it's surprising difficult to get a shot of the sun, because....well it's the sun! Anyway, hope you all like it!

Warning - *Gore Alert*!!

Pigeon 0 - Sparrohawk 1.

Had a rather striking visitor to the garden last night, a female Sparrowhawk. It had taken one of the pigeon's that had been resident in our garden.

Rather typically she was at the top most shadiest of part of the garden in the late evening, so getting usable images was challenging but given these were shot through glass - I was more than happy with them!

It's been aaaaggggeeeesssss since I've gotten out with the camera! So good to be out with the camera! Whilst down in Pembrokeshire, it'd have been rude not to visit Tenby and see how "Wally the Walrus" is getting on! He seems to be getting on OK, looks to be putting on weight and seems to like his regular haul out spot! Not something I thought I'd ever been taking a photo of in Pembrokeshire!!
