Big thank you to the wonderful Island and SPACE staff team for organising and running a great event again this year and all our wonderful tenants and teachers for being so welcoming to the public and curating a smashing show in our Gallery space!

And of course Doors Open Day and the Architecture Centre for hosting the event and the 1000 visitors who came to visit The Island and SPACE throughout the weekend!

The Island’s annual open studios are a highlight of our arts and events calendar and we look forward to inviting you all along to join us in September.

Our open studios are a fantastic opportunity for members of the public to explore the building, meet our artists tenants, discuss their ideas at our artists surgeries and get to know more about The Island and how they can be involved.

They are also an opportunity to celebrate all things around art, music, events at The Island featuring a group art show, films, music, workshops and 1-2-1 arts consultations with our team.

You also get to explore the beautiful grade II listed old Bridewell Police Station and visit the old police cells with our organised guided tours!

We are very excited to be hosting our OPEN STUDIOS weekend as part of Doors Open Day 2016.

Bristol Doors Open Day is a once-a-year chance to look behind closed doors and discover the city’s hidden treasures. You can explore fascinating buildings, join guided tours and enjoy a range of events and activities – all free for the day.
