What a joy to see those amazing gas balls rising from all around the city and floating literally above our heads as the sun rose 🎈😍☀️

Hello! Hi there! 🙋🏻‍♂️ I'm back! 😊 I know I haven't posted in a while. I took a (very) extended Christmas brake. I used lockdown as an opportunity to revisit something I have shot before and see how far I've come in a year or so since I started taking deep sky astrophotography more seriously. So here is my 2nd attempt at the Orion Nebula from my balcony in central Bristol.
I can't believe how much better this image looks compared to my previous attempt (check out my IG stories for detailed before/after comparison) 👀
Same equipment as last time under a more challenging light polluted sky but much better results. This can be explained by a number of things:
I know my equipment a lot better
I've improved my shooting technique (better polar alignment, better balancing, better camera settings, etc)
I've also been working hard to improve my post processing skills

So the lesson here is: keep trying with what you have until you succeed and you will get better and better along the way. Don't let your seemingly limited equipment or the light pollution around you get the better of you. Everything is possible if you set your mind to it. 💪🏻🧠

Pointing up at the stars again! ✨💫🌌⭐🤩
This galaxy is called the Triangulum Galaxy, also known as M33. It's a spiral galaxy 2.73 million light-years away from earth. In other words, when we look at it, we see what the galaxy looked like 2.73 million years ago. 🤯 Isn't that mind blowing?

Fiery Bridge ! 🔥🌉
We've had crazy sunsets lately! 😍 It was great to be back at the bridge after what felt like an eternity.
This particular sunset is from two weeks ago but I've been struggling to start the edit. I don't know what it is these days but I just don't feel like editing pics... 🤔 This is a dangerous situation because I still enjoy going out and shoot, which means RAW files are dangerously accumulating on my laptop 😬 but that's a problem for another day 🤷🏻‍♂️
Anyone else ever had that issue? How did you deal with it?

I am pumped every time I visit the Elan Valley and this was no exception! I even took the day off just to enjoy the great conditions that we had a few weeks ago and boy was that amazing! 🤩
Even though the Milky Way core is getting lower and lower as we drift into winter, it's still putting on a great show under the dark skies of Wales . 🌌⭐🖼️

This is my second attempt at photographing the Andromeda Galaxy 🌌, our closest neighbour (which is still 2.4 million light years away). I took it last weekend from the Llyn Y Fan Fach car park as the night was perfectly clear.
I wanted to photograph it again just to see just how far I've come in almost a year. Bottom line is: my shooting skills and post processing have improved a lot since then but I still have a lot to learn!

3 years ago, I was looking at this incredible seascape on the African Island of Zanzibar. 🏝️😎 What a great time we had there! It was so nice that I actually did a morning run along the beach (which I never ever do because I hate running!).
I was on a very pretty beach today as well, albeit a tad colder. Pictures of this to come.
