I can relate to Lawrence Mahone's post about Filmmaking:

"The more you learn about filmmaking, the more you realize how glamorous it isn't.

Social media doesn't show the 4am call times. The BTS videos don't show the tired crew. The award speeches don't mention the defaulted credit card debt, the blown relationships, burned bridges, the years spent saying no to everything that doesn't align with your creativity.

We've sold this industry as art. It's mostly endurance and logistics.

Here's what nobody will say: the glamour was always the marketing. The work itself is tedious, expensive, and physically punishing. It's standing in the cold for fourteen hours so three seconds make it to screen. It's rewriting the same page nine times. It's watching your budget die in real time.

And the people who last love it anyway. Not despite the grind. Because of it.
If you got into filmmaking for the lifestyle, you'll quit. If you got into it because you can't stop, you'll stay.

Those who respect the craft and love it, win in the long term. "
