L & M… you were an absolute joy!

And your wedding was everything I love about weddings. Not because it was perfectly constructed or because every tiny detail had been orchestrated within an inch of its life — quite the opposite.

There was no performance. No trying to create a wedding that looked a certain way. No “we saw this on TikTok so we need to recreate it” list. No worrying about whether everything was perfectly coordinated or whether they were doing weddings properly. You’re clearly two people who absolutely adore each other, wanting to get married, surrounded by the people you love.

And THAT is my kind of wedding.

When your couple ask you to photograph not one wedding... but two.

After capturing their intimate ceremony in the UK just after lockdown, they invited me over to France for the big celebration they'd always dreamed of, nestled amongst the beautiful vineyards of the Bordeaux region and surrounded by family and friends from around the world.

What an absolute privilege.

It was one of those weekends I'll never forget, and there are still so many moments from their beautiful celebration I haven't shared.

Can we take a moment for the shoes...?

Ever since I was little, I've had a bit of a thing for beautiful heels. My mum was a proper glamour puss, and one of our favourite things to do was wander into the shoe department and admire every pair of ‘killer heels’ we couldn't possibly justify buying. I think it's safe to say she passed that little obsession on to me.

Sadly, they're not exactly practical for photographing a wedding (there's a reason I'm usually found in trainers by the end of the day!), but I still love photographing them.

For me, they're never just shoes. They're one of those little details that have often taken months to choose and say so much about the bride and the style of the day. Along with the flowers, they're always one of the first things I'm drawn to.

I feel like there hasn't been nearly enough confetti on my grid recently... so let's fix that!

There's just something about this moment. The ceremony is over, the nerves have disappeared, and for the first time all day you get to walk through a tunnel of your favourite people getting to celebrate the fact that you're officially married.

It's chaotic.
It's noisy.
It's utterly beautiful.

I love it!!!

Happy Anniversary to these two. ❤️

In over 20 years of photographing weddings, this is the only one where I was both a guest *and* the photographer.

Family means a great deal to me, so being trusted to document one of the biggest days in my niece’s life, whilst also being there to celebrate it with them, is something I’ll never forget.

It meant photographing bridal prep in my denim shorts before disappearing to get changed into something a little more wedding-appropriate for the afternoon. It meant sneaking into the family photographs, swapping photographer mode for auntie mode every now and then and simply enjoying being surrounded by some of my favourite people.

And of course, there had to be a cuddle with my little red-haired sidekick. For years I was the only redhead in the family... until now!

Three years on, I still feel incredibly lucky to have been part of it in every sense.

R&A... what a pair!

So much fun, so clearly in love, and completely themselves from start to finish. The kind of couple where the smiles never feel forced, the laughter comes easily, and you can just see the love and respect they have for each other in every moment. R's smile is infectious, you can clearly see how much fun life is with her - I don’t think she stopped smiling all day.

They brought colour in the best possible way too — bright, joyful, unapologetically vibrant. From the flowers to the feel of the day, everything reflected their energy and how they wanted their wedding to feel. And with the most glorious sunshine thrown in, it all just came together beautifully.

And to top it all off, being back at after a while was such a treat. It’s one of those places that feels like home — not just because it’s stunning (which it is), but because of the people there. A team that feels more like family, and a setting that never disappoints.
