Essentially throwing stuff about with your friends is fun right? Frisbees, snowballs, confetti..
Fresh flowers are generally a beautiful ephemeral thing anyway and won’t last much beyond your wedding day so why not appreciate them as much as you can!
Of course you might be organised/conscientious enough to want to dry yours and save it for posterity! In which case more power to you 👌😎 but let’s face it that probably isn’t true of many of us.
Out of curiosity I like to research wedding traditions before I recommend them. It’s always good to check their origins aren’t tooooo troubling 😳
This one apparently originates in 14th century England “evolving from a chaotic tradition where guests would try and rip off pieces of the brides dress for good luck. To escape this, brides began tossing their bouquets as a distraction”(!)
Though luckily these days most brides are not in danger of having their dresses ripped apart, I still think a bouquet toss is solid entertainment for a summer wedding evening.
Great for that gap between the meal and party - makes for much hilarity and some great candid photos. The flowers are already past their best by that point, and a touch of silly could help get everyone relaxed for some ‘friends’ group pics too.
Anyone else any other thoughts on being a bouquet tosser? 🤭
