Autumn in the city 🍁

Bath is perhaps one of the most beautiful cities for photographing the Autumn colour.
Its natural warm Bath stone contrasts beautifully with those misty mornings and vivid red and orange leaves.

Autumn seems quite different every year here, and the colour will randomly pop in different parts of the city at different times, so it makes photographing it quite exciting every time you walk through.

These are a collection of autumn shots I’ve captured in Bath city over the years.

Autumn in Lofoten, Norway. One of the most beautiful places on earth.

I’ve said this a lot, but Lofoten is perhaps one of the most breathtaking places you’ll ever visit.
I’ve been lucky enough to be able to visit this place a few times now, and every time I’ve been, my jaw drops.
The size and scale of this place is unimaginable. It really does make you question whether it is real or not.
It is a landscape photographer’s paradise.

In the autumn, Lofoten has incredibly unpredictable weather, and you can often end up with every type of weather happening within the same hour. However, you get these incredible moments of beauty that shine across the landscape.
I remember one morning, we decided to hike up Reinebringen for sunrise to photograph the sunrise lighting up the foot of the mountains. On the way up, we experienced pretty severe versions of every weather type and we were worried that our efforts would be for nothing, but we ended up getting one of the most incredible sunrise views imaginable.
During the autumn, everything is lit up orange, with the crystal-clear waters and red fisherman’s huts.

If you ever get the opportunity to go, take it. You won’t regret it. I have some of the best memories here.
It’ll be that adventure photography trip you’ll never forget.

AD . This is how I would make an AD for an e-scooter!

Navee reached out to me to see how I would approach creating a video for them. Now this is not a type of video I’ve covered before, but as a videographer, I like a challenge, and I thought I’d have some fun with it.

Navee sent out the GT5 Max with a 90km range, front and rear suspension, incredible power and battery performance, it even has FindMy built in. Also included is a lot of fun, haha!

I thought rather than do your typical product overview, I thought I’d show you how I’d approach creating a video for it if I were making product video for them.

Autumn at Stourhead - Over the years

If you’re planning your autumn photography adventures for this year, then one of the best places to see the autumn colour is Stourheadbin Wiltshire, UK. National Trust Stourhead

I’ve been visiting here for years during the autumn and every year feels totally different there. Even 1 to 2 weeks apart can feel so different there. Some mornings you’ll have low rolling fog and mist giving a really moody feel, and other mornings you’ll have incredible sunrises.

You’ll tend to find that earlier in October, you’ll see the Virginia creeper bright red across the arch in the second picture. This typically shows up first before everything else comes out in full colour.

When taking photographs there, get there early and take your time. There’s so many beautiful angles and compositions to photograph, so you’ll come back with plenty of photos. If the morning light is nice, I’d suggest a walking round the path to the right along the water as the light will shine beautifully across the lake and through the autumn leaves. Avoid walking round left to begin with as you’ll have less flattering light in the morning.

It’s officially Autumn! …on the meteorological calendar.

It’s that time of year I wait for. The best season for photography and adventure. The beautiful warm tones, the crunchy autumn leaves, being surrounded by amazing colours, frosty walks with a coffee and camera in hand, and being in my element for photography.

Here’s a selection of some of my favourite autumnal photos I’ve taken from over the years.

For those of you that say it’s too early for me to start posting autumnal content… no, it’s not. It’s never too early!!!

Planning the next Autumn Scotland trip – 2026

As many of you know, autumn is my favourite time of year. However, there are some places that are absolutely incredible for seeing the beautiful autumn colour. Scotland is one of the best.

I had driven up last year and will be doing the same this year. Im currently planning the trip with a group of friends, and I’m very excited to be heading back for another photography trip.

One of my favourite photography spots is the Hermitage. The colours there in the autumn are breathtaking. With beautiful orange leaves surrounding you, mossy rocks and bridges, and a stunning waterfall, what’s not to love! It’s quite literally like a fantasy movie location!

AD | Getting back the time to explore with the Ryzen AI-Powered laptop.

As a photographer and videographer, it’s easy to think that I’m probably always out exploring amazing places and doing lots of cool things, but the reality is that I spend about 80% of my time sat behind my desk doing the work that sits behind the scenes.

In order to get out more, I need something that allows me to work from anywhere with plenty of power, great battery life, and unique features that help speed up and manage the more mundane aspects of my work.

The ASUS ProArt GoPro Edition Laptop has been really powerful for blasting through my photo and video edits on the go, and I’ve been incredibly impressed with the battery life. The 3K OLED display is absolutely gorgeous for viewing my photos and videos on too!

With the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ chip, I can run local language models on LM Studio completely on device. No sending anything off to a data centre. Everything is handled on device, so if I need help breaking down project briefs, putting together schedules, gear, and call sheets… you know… all the mundane tasks that take way longer than they should do, then it should take no time at all running all of these processes locally. This way I can work off-grid and still keep up with my work.

World Photography Day 2026!

Today I could go on and on about what photography has taught me, but really, I want to talk about what photography has given me.

I got into photography as a bit of a creative hobby. I enjoyed tech and being creative, so the two seemed to go hand in hand. I remember snapping pictures on my earliest camera phone, which was a Sony Ericsson (if you don’t know what that phone is, it means I’m getting too old), and eventually buying my first DSLR at 18 which was the Canon 550D.

When I bought that camera, I had no idea how pivotal that moment would be in my life.

Over time, photography has given me so many incredible opportunities. I’ve met some of the best friends I could ever ask for through photography. It’s allowed me to travel and experience so many amazing things. It’s allowed me to capture memories that will stay with me for a lifetime, encapsulated in this art form that centres around a little box and some glass attached to it.

The fact I got to quit my job and do photography and video full time seems so crazy to me.

Both photography and the photography community have changed my life completely, and I can’t wait to see what photography brings my way in life going forward.

AD | Today I’m making the forest my workspace with the Ryzen AI-Powered laptop.

As a photographer and videographer running my own production business, I have a busy schedule and struggle to find time to do what got me into photography and video in the first place. Exploring and capturing my surroundings with a camera in hand.

With this laptop, it’s given me that opportunity to find more time to get out, explore, and do more of what I love.

Photographing Magical Madeira ⛰️

Last week I had the pleasure of exploring and capturing the beautiful place that is Madeira whilst celebrating Rhian Wirtz Birthday.

Funnily enough, it was also 15 years to the day that I had previously visited Madeira on a family holiday before I was even into photography. To go back and be able to capture all these incredible locations 15 years on was a real privilege.

From Fanal Forest to Pico do Arieiro, and many other spots, it really is a photographer’s dream location for so many varying types of subjects to capture.
I have many more photos to edit through from the trip, but these are some of my favourite shots from the trip.

The way that the light and mist cover the landscape like a blanket, with stunning light rays, is absolutely breathtaking to see.
