And the pros? Well they speak for themselves.

The last of the Morocco photos! šŸ‡²šŸ‡¦

Without wanting to sound too pretentious, travelling about leaves a lot of time for thinking. So I’ll leave you with a quote that has been at the front of mind since returning from Morocco….

ā€œIf I’m an advocate for anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food, it’s a plus for everybody. Open your mind, get up off the couch, move.ā€ - Anthony Bourdain

A day in Essaouira. šŸ‡²šŸ‡¦šŸŸ

I could’ve sworn I booked an English speaking tour but I managed to find myself on a Spanish one. So I left the group and wandered solo through the Medina and fish markets.

A calm amongst the chaos… šŸŠ

I could’ve spent forever wandering in the High Atlas Mountains but sadly I was back into the chaos of Marrakech. So when I stumbled across this place I was straight in. Dar El Bacha museum is a quiet hideaway in the middle of the city and currently houses the museum of confluences.

Mt Toubkal āœ…šŸ”ļø

I’d had been eyeing off a bigger peak for a while, so after finding cheap flights, I was on my way to the tallest peak in Northern Africa. Plenty of things went well over the 2 days, but I thought I’d share the following. Here’s a list of a few things that didn’t go to well…

- Setting off at 3:45am and within the first hour it was honestly the sickest I’ve ever felt in my life. Minor altitude sickness came in waves throughout the whole trek. I settled after a bit of a break
- My gloves were no where near warm enough and combined with a chill factor of -15, meant for bitterly cold hands for most of the morning. And honestly this came down to no one’s fault but my own.
- With freezing fingers it meant I didn’t take anywhere near enough photos. I always come away from these trips feeling like I haven’t taken enough photos.

After 3 days in the chaos of Marrakech and I was happy to leave it behind. An early morning bus and I was off to the trails of the Atlas Mountains…. šŸ”ļø

After arriving in Imlil and meeting with our guide. A final gear check was done. We set off into the hills aimed at the Refuge Du Toubkal where we would rest for the night.

Life in the Medina…. šŸ‡²šŸ‡¦

Back in the UK and getting through some of the photos from Morocco, I’m pretty stoked with the majority of the photos but as always I wish I had taken more.

Marrakech is a super busy city, which keeps you on your toes at every corner. At the centre of the city sits the historic walled Medina, where orderly chaos reigns supreme!

The plan for the perfect summer…. ā˜€ļø

Step 1. Start a new hobby, with the intent to quit by winter. Soley because it’ll take the pressure off feeling like you need to commit too it, revisit it when the time comes. Maybe even one that’ll get you outside more?

Step 2. Eat and cook outside as much as possible. Summer basically revolves around bbqs and soaking in the glorious sunshine.

Step 3. Choose human powered transport!
Why? Because you can! Slow down, the summer won’t last forever so why be stuck in your car when you can get somewhere under your own steam?

Step 4. Make plans! Going by the average life span, I’ve only got around 40 summers left. And when I factor in old age, I’ll be too fragile to do anything fun so that takes it down to say 30? That’s not many at all!

At the end of the day, the perfect summer is mostly a mentality. šŸ‘Šā˜€ļø
