In 2009, after 33 years as a professional photographer, and having photographed the n**e on and off throughout my career, I was nudged by one of my clients, Nigel Cuthbert, when I had photographed the first two stages of his wife, Verna’s progress through her pregnancy, to produce a book featuring what he called “Cheshire Nudes”. Over 75 photo shoots and a change of title later...
The Liberated Ladies photo book was published after a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. You can buy the book from eBay or directly from me for £25 including UK postage, or £30 including world postage.

The World Naked Bike Ride participants are invited to 'bare as they dare'. This group of friends were totally at ease in the buff and were happy to pose for me before the start of this year's Manchester ride. This more candid angle shows regulars Martin and Jane taking a selfie.
The purpose of this annual global attention-grabbing event is to raise awareness of the burning of fossil fuels which is warming up the planet. Cycling can be a way to help reduce this, but cyclists need to be better protected from other traffic.

Sorry for the censorship, but my first attempt, although pixelated, offended a robot at Facebook. Update: the earlier image was reinstated after I appealed, but I think I like this more because it is so ridiculous.

It's soon to be World Naked Bike Ride time. After a Covid break and a shift from June to 13th August the riders will be out in force to amuse, bemuse, and hopefully educate the Mancunian public.
This image entitled 'Dedicated to Photography' (which is what I am) was liked by Master Photographers Association judge Roy Wooding enough to be awarded a 'Highly Commended' this month.
I've chatted with many an onlooker who said they would really like to take part, but I wonder how many were brave enough, or remembered.
Anyone can take part in the ride wearing as little as they dare.
