Sand Dune Christmas Tree project

These photos come from Black Rock Beach, which this year is the site of the Christmas tree burying. This project has been ongoing for the past couple of years. The goal is to help save the sand dunes from coastal erosion by planting used Christmas trees to help stabilise the fragile sand dunes.

This project is run by and the , with last year bringing in over 600 trees to help protect the dunes

Here are a couple photos from which is currently being moved and rebuilt brick by brick to avoid it falling in to the ocean.
The original tower also known as the pepperpot was originally built in 1835 and has been moved before in 1881.
The whole project is expected to cost £400,000 this money has come from National Lottery Heritage Fund, Cornwall Council, BSTC and a community crowdfunding effort (the crowdfunding effort along raised an amazing £60,000 towards the project)

I plan on going back to photography the tower once again once the project is finished.
