As the sun rises over Oldham, this early morning drone footage captures the quiet dignity of Lees Brook Mill — the last standing sentinel of a once-thriving industrial past. Set to the hauntingly nostalgic strains of Homeward Bound by Simon & Garfunkel, this video is more than a visual journey — it’s an emotional homecoming.

Lees Brook Mill, built in the late 19th century, stands resilient in a landscape where time has claimed its neighbours — Owl Mill and Athens Mill, now lost to demolition. Once part of the lifeblood of this area, these textile mills powered communities, provided livelihoods, and shaped generations. Today, Lees Brook Mill is the final thread in a tapestry fast unravelling, its brickwork echoing with stories of labor, resilience, and humanity.

There’s a strange warmth in its presence. When I see this mill rising I know I’m nearly home.

🕰️ A moment of stillness. A monument to the working class. A symbol of endurance.
