Bit like waiting for a bus this morning. Looking for an eagle....any eagle.....and three turn up. Not the best photo but still nice to see. Plus an otter but we didn't stop for that. I did try and ring you Pete Hall so your clients could see it but went to answerphone.

A few more from the Edinburgh Zoo trip

After a few days in Edinburgh to visit the zoo and celebrate Jane's 70th birthday I managed a few images. Not as many as I was hoping due to the fact that a lot of the enclosures were empty for maintenance which was disappointing. The weather was a bit bleak with ISO's up to 10,000 and it was even worse in the "Wee Beastie House" where I managed a shot of the chorus frog which was about the size of my thumb nail. So after lugging nearly three stone of camera equipment on a pack pack for five hours these are some of the shots I ended up with. The otters of course being my favourite but this time Asian Short Clawed.

The crocuses are up, birds are singing and the geese are pairing up in the field. Hope to see some of these boxing soon.

Very surprised to receive a Highly Commended Award from the The Society of Photographers for my female Stonechat taken in the Glen on the Isle of Mull today. Happy boy!
