This week I'm in Austria for the opening of Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo 2026, where I'm delighted to be exhibiting as part of this year's programme.

Running from 12 June to 11 October, the festival transforms the beautiful spa town of Baden bei Wien into a vast open-air gallery, with large-format photographic works displayed throughout its gardens, streets and public spaces. Spanning more than seven kilometres, it offers a unique opportunity to experience photography beyond the traditional gallery setting and in direct conversation with the landscape.

I was fortunate enough to exhibit at Festival La Gacilly in France last year and was completely blown away by the scale, atmosphere and quality of the exhibitions. To see my work presented again within this remarkable festival, this time in Austria, is incredibly exciting, and I can't wait to experience it in person.

If you're planning a trip to Austria this summer, I highly recommend adding Baden to your itinerary.

I recently did a talk at Basingstoke Camera Club so it was great to see some more of the members there yesterday and see their wonderful work - it was a fantastic array of brilliant photographs from the members. 

Landscapes, nature, street photography, macro, underwater, concept, even model shoots with dresses made of rubbish bags!
Really great selection. 

It's also a great way to get art into the community in a big shopping mall, by using shops that are currently unoccupied to support the local art community.

Thank you to the members for your kind welcome, and to Simon and Sue for your support. And to , now the club president, for coming to my studio in the first place and booking me for a talk! Her work is fantastic, check it out. ♥️

The event was sponsored by and I enjoyed looking through the book samples and paper types... I'm not saying it's going to be soon.. But I do keep being asked to do a book 😉

A selection of works from my current solo exhibition in Palermo, Sicily.

Installed within the remarkable Palazzo della Zecca, these photographs explore the beauty, history and atmosphere of architectural spaces, revealing the stories embedded within their walls.

It has been a privilege to share this work in such a vibrant city and to see the response from visitors over the opening weekend.

The exhibition is free to visit and open to the public.

Camera ready… or at least trying to be.

Most of the time my photographs involve stillness, silence and carefully considered compositions. Behind the scenes it’s usually far less elegant - climbing through dusty industrial buildings, battling the elements, carrying far too much equipment and occasionally looking completely feral in the process.

This was taken during one of those moments somewhere between “professional photographer” and “woman being attacked by the wind”

Worth it though.

A few more works from Memory and Vision, currently on view at Palazzo Buontalenti in Florence.

Included here is Cortile della Caserma - Caserma Redi, exploring the beautiful cloisters of the former barracks founded in 1886. I was especially drawn to the perspective of the arched walkways here - the repeating forms, shifting light and sense of scale within the space.

There is also a Palermo chapter of the Memory and Vision exhibition currently open and I will share more works from there soon.
