Been a successful trout fisher for many, many years. Still, always room to learn. With that in mind I spent a day with Fred Bainbridge on the River Ure. Fred has multiple National Titles to his name.
I have to say, I learned an awful lot. It just illustrates that no matter how comfortable you are with your own ability, improvements can be made and learning can continue.
With that in mind I have been working on the ultimate fly-line! Here is a prototype. Still got a few problems to iron out though. Not easy to see once it hits the water and tying hooks to it has proved difficult.

Well, this presented more than a few problems. First, the bottle, and wine inside, to be lit with gradient light, on opposite sides of the bottle. I think it is better if the light does not go right to the edges, but allows a dark outline to remain. (Chiaroscuro as they say in painting.)
Next, and quite obvious, is the medallion on the label. Embossed with gold foil, which looks great, but this requires far less exposure than the detail in the dark label. But I need to capture the details of both.
Finally, a fine Italian wine needs a suitable backdrop, but not one that steals the show. I attempted to create a background with an atmosphere that tips it's hat to fine art imagery. I think this welcomes a fine Italian wine quite well.
All in all, this was a bigger challenge than one may imagine "photographing a bottle of wine" would be.

What a spot of food photography! This is the super flying cheese burger! Double up on the meat patties, throw some red onion at it, then add a splash of tomato ketchup mixed with sweet chilli sauce! Toss over a slice of extra mature Dutch cheese all dropped into a brioche bun, and that is the flying super burger! Oh, and a bit of green stuff too.
