The hot weather this year has been relentless and it hasn't made me fancy going out for much normal landscape photography but it has meant at least I've been able to get out for some astrophotography and I've been really enjoying it again, learning new techniques and finding another creative challenge.
This shot was back from a productive trip in May in Pembrokeshire. The weather wasn't quite as reliable as it is now but we had a few moments. On this particular night we had been at the Green Bridge of Wales (after failing the previous night with clouds) and we decided to carry on until the early hours and rushed over to Freshwater West and managed to get some shots before believe it or not the rain came.
This hut in the foreground is the seaweed drying hut and is a lovely little feature and the perfect foreground., All it required was careful lining up of the core of the Milky Way to make the shot.
I have plenty more shots to edit from the last few months, they take a little bit of attention to get the most of them so I'm even slower than usual but I'm happy with this one!
This week is also the perfect week for you to get out for astrophotography, the moon timings are almost perfect, a good weather forecast and there's even the peak of the Perseids for that little extra touch.
