The Senghenydd Sirens faced another huge challenge on Sunday in their second game of the Welsh Women's Premiership, and despite a heavy defeat, there was a **massive improvement from last week’s opening game".

In difficult, drizzly conditions and against a very strong Severn Sisters side, the Sirens showed an exceptional work rate from start to finish. They never stopped competing, never stopped working and continued to give everything right until the final whistle.

The Welsh Women's Premiership is a serious step up, and days like this are part of the learning curve. But the improvement was clear to see, and there were plenty of moments that showed what this team is capable of as they continue to grow into the challenge.

A huge amount of respect also goes to Severn Sisters a class team on the pitch, but equally importantly, a fantastic group of people off it — friendly, welcoming and incredibly supportive after the game. That's exactly what rugby should be about. 👏

The result might not have gone our way, but the effort was unquestionable.

A great afternoon of rugby played in fantastic spirits. 💪🏉

It may not have been Senghenydd’s day on the scoreboard, but the lads gave everything from the first whistle to the last. Plenty of hard work, determination and some seriously big tackles flying in! 💥

Lots to be proud of from the boys — the effort, attitude and commitment were there for all to see.

Well played to both teams, and a big congratulations to **Penallta U16** on the win. 👏

🏉 A BATTLE RIGHT TO THE FINAL WHISTLE!

Senghenydd Rags 🆚 Abercwmboi RFC.

Saturday saw a proper old-fashioned rugby battle, with very little between these two sides throughout the game.

The final score Senghenydd Rags 03-10 Abercwmboi RFC tells you just how tight the contest was - a game that could have genially have gone either way.

💪 Both sides produced some outstanding defensive work, putting their bodies on the line and refusing to give the opposition an easy route through.

It was physical, competitive and played with plenty of energy form both teams, with just a few fine margins ultimately separating them.

👏 Credit to both teams for a great contest.

What a way to start the season!🔥

The U16s faced Valley Ravens U16s in a hard-fought and physical encounter, with both teams brining huge energy and determination from the first whistle.

it was a high tempo battle between two very good sides, with little separating them throughout, edging out the Ravens to secure a narrow victory and get their new campaign off to a winning start.💪🏉

A fantastic effort from both teams and a great advert for U16s rugby. 👏

🏉 SAINTS START THE SEASON WITH A WIN! 🔴🔵

The Senghenydd Saints Rugby got their new campaign off to a wining start with a hard fought victory over Fleur De Lys RFC.

It was a physical and competitive encounter against a strong Fleur De Lys outfit, with both sides putting in a huge shift💪🏉

It was the Saints who came out on-top, showing plenty of character, determination and grit to secure the victory and get their season under way with the best possible way.

🐬What an experience!

A few of my favourite shots from a fantastic boat trip in Cornwall with my son.

We were lucky enough to come across these beautiful Dolphins, and I thought id give myself the challenge of trying to photograph them.

I quickly realised just how difficult it is the capture something that disappears beneath the water and pops up somewhere completely different a few seconds later! There's is defiantly a lot of "where's it going to appear next" followed by frantically trying to line up the next shot.

That's what makes wildlife photography so much fun - you never quite know what your going to get. I am really pleased with a few of these and, more importantly, it was a brilliant experience too share with my son. ❤
