A friend called me up a couple weeks ago asking if I wanted some whisky barrels, and I certainly wasn’t going to say no!
Another friend has just moved into a new house so as a housewarming present I made him this whisky stave coat hanger... and I’m really happy with how it turned out! 🥳
(Even the coat hooks are recycled ♻️

Three fun facts about the Trossachs: 🌄

1. The name Trossachs could be derived from the Brittonic language meaning ‘cross-hill’ or from the Gaelic word for ‘bristly’.

2. Sit Walter Scott wrote ‘The Lady of the Lake’ in 1810 which included many Trossachs place names and ‘Rob Roy’ in 1817 in a novel depiction of the man, the myth, the legend from Balquidder.

3. Look out for the beavers! Assuming to have come from the River Tay, there has been a continual increase in beaver activity in the last five years at Loch Achray!

I've been busy getting Trossachs themed artwork and gifts ready for Saturdays event at . So looking forward to being there and being part of the event!

We have local artists such as coming along to share art inspired, memories and stories of the Trossachs national park as well as for some nature based activities for all ages. We also have coming along with some local fresh vegetables! Come along and have a chat!

Location: Brig O' Turk Tearoom

✨~ Pyrography ~✨

From the Greek language, meaning ‘writing with fire’.
I use a specialized machine with a heating element and over 20 different tips that can be fixed onto the end of the metal rod to draw with, and the heat can be adjusted from 200-700 degrees Celsius! 🥵

I’ve been focusing on practicing shading lately, which I think really lends itself to Scottish hills and landscapes, from which I have many beautiful choices around me living in the Trossachs! 🌄

On June 29th from 11am-3pm at we will be celebrating the beautiful Trossachs. Come along to meet local artists and organizations and ask me about recycled woodworking and pyrography! 🥳
