Jenna McKone Photo

Jenna McKone Photo I'm a traveling photographer based out of Cambridge, England. Specializing in travel, lifestyle, couples, and families. My style should speak for itself.

Photography has always been a hobby of mine, but once I became a military spouse and moved overseas, I learned quickly that I may need to use my passion and hobby to my advantage in order to have a job I can take with me. I am all about capturing you and your loved one(s) in your most natural and candid moments. Sometimes, posed photos are necessary (i.e., Christmas cards for the family), but a se

ssion with me, for the most part, means letting your hair blow, capturing that mid belly laugh, or even the tears. If, after reviewing my website and photos, you think you'd love to work with me, then I'd love to work with you! I can't wait to create with you and spread the love through photography.

Hi all! Jenna McKone Photo is back – now residing in Phoenix, Arizona – after a VERY long hiatus! I work a full-time job in tourism marketing and have been focusing on different photography avenues, but I'd love to begin building a word-of-mouth clientele in the Greater Phoenix area to book a few sessions a month. If you or anyone you know is searching for a Phoenix-based photographer to capture the candid, unposed images for a couple, engagement, military function or family session, please contact me at [email protected]. Thank you! šŸ’›

A mother’s love ā¤ļø
Situational circumstances have naturally lead me to shooting a lot of mother/child sessions while dad’s been away, and never did I think I would feel such a special draw to it until I started. While, of course, it’s ideal to have the whole family together, there’s something so beautifully raw about capturing a mother’s nurturing and unconditional love to her child/ren. Sessions like these are also beaming with empowerment.
•
’s story is shared with many women in our lifestyle: she had her third baby, ready to coparent their first daughter with her beloved spouse, only to be told he would be leaving in a few weeks for an indefinite amount of time. From the outside looking in, such situations feel impossibly hopeless.
•
But, as most unplanned hardships unravel, what you thought would surely be the circumstance that breaks you...fortifies you instead. You’re not only able to keep your own head above water but one, two, three others, too. You’re able to shatter one moment then clean up the pieces the next, all on your own (with a little help from some friends). That’s not only empowered motherhood...

That’s empowered womanhood.

Grateful to share these sessions of such beautiful, strong, independent women!

The Blake’s. šŸ’™
Could not have asked for a better commander family for our first assignment here in England. Their time here was short but sweet for certain! Loved capturing these moments in their last few remainding weeks in England.

An insanely sweet mother/son in-home session with Rachel and baby Harvey for his one year celebration! One of my all time favorites. In-home sessions add an extra layer of intimacy and realness to capturing the everyday love that goes on under the roof. So special to help capture these little moments for dad who’s away on deployment ā¤ļø

Have good natural light in your house? I’d looove to do more of these. Just send me a message!

Laura and Paul (ā€œMetalā€) will always be such special friends to us and we miss them dearly. Not goodbye but see you later ā¤ļø

It’s been a while since I’ve shot engagements and I’ve missed it! These two love birds were so fun despite the moody/crappy weather and you can do clearly see their personalities through the lens. It’s so important to let couples be themselves when shooting - I really felt their love through the whole shooting/editing process. A few faves šŸ’•

Whoa, it’s been a while fam! I hope you’ve been enjoying the holiday season, and hope you plan to celebrate THIS hard for 2019 šŸ„‚šŸŽŠ Fini flights are some of my absolute favorite moments to capture. Absolutely nothing posed about these memories - just pure raw energy. The good stuff. We’ll miss having these guys around!

P.S. black & whites forevvvverrr

One key lesson I’m learning as a relatively young and new pilot spouse:
•
Every time your loved one comes home- whether it’s after months, a week or a day - it should be celebrated.
•
This is a Fini Flight. It’s when a pilot is leaving the squadron and gets his/her last flight in the jet at the particular base. It may be their last flight ever or just their last one at that place, but it’s tradition to celebrate with champagne and water sprays when the pilot lands.
•
But, with recent learnings that we’ve lost another pilot (within the Eagle community) during an exercise, it hits home for us family members. Every single day my husband leaves in the morning I tell him I love him. No matter how tired, or how early, and I make sure he hears it. Because the reality is, we don’t know if they’ll come back. We put faith in their training and we put faith in their intuition, but you can’t fight the risk. Being a fighter pilot spouse (and any military spouse) means accepting and surrendering almost daily that there is a chance of tragedy.
•
So, I think every time your loved one walks through your door it should be celebrated - like a dog would when his owner comes home. Maybe you don’t need a champagne bottle EVERY time, but another day in the presence of loved ones is a gift.
