Adam first contacted me with an idea, and from our first conversations I felt there was a real story in it. Something deeper than just another running film.

Because of the nature of filming an event like this, and the complications that come with that, we were only able to make a short teaser from this race rather than the fuller piece we had in mind.

Access is limited, movement is restricted, and so much of the battle happens internally — which makes it a difficult one to capture properly.

But even in a small piece like this, I wanted to hint at the bigger story underneath. That’s what I love most about filmmaking — finding human stories inside challenging environments and trying to tell them honestly.
So for now, this is just a teaser.

Does he make it?

I’d love to take this further.

Day one brought a bit of everything — mixed weather, long hours on the course, and running right through the night. Backyard ultras really are a different kind of challenge. It’s not just about pace or fitness, it’s about resetting, going again, and staying in the fight when the miles start to take their toll. Big credit to challenge running for putting on a brilliant event.

BEFORE MORNING - Dylan gets up at 4am to run before the day starts. Five years clear, a call for a biopsy brings the fear that cancer is back — and the thought of not seeing his kids grow up. He keeps moving anyway: work, training, silence, and small rituals that hold him together. This film isn’t about motivation. It’s about what it costs to keep going when tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.

Do you know your history?

The Arborist: Innovators & Influencers is a 7-part documentary series exploring the people, companies, products and ideas that helped shape modern arboriculture.

For this screening, we’re sharing a condensed version of that wider story — a short film reflecting some of the individuals, innovations and influences behind the industry as it stands today.

We’re honoured to be showing it as a private screening at the Augsburg Tree Care Show this Tuesday.

Screening time: 5:30pm German time

Watch our socials, as we’ll be going live from the event.

Tree Climbing in France 🇫🇷

Went out to get the standard competition shots… but this felt like the place to push something different.

Been playing with motion a lot recently.
Slowing the shutter down. Letting the background move. Letting it blur.

Trying to capture what it actually feels like up there —
the speed, the flow, the constant movement through the canopy.

Not perfect. Not meant to be.
But it feels closer to the moment.

What do you think — does this work, or do you prefer everything sharp?
If you’ve shot motion like this before, how did you approach it?

Share it if you like this direction — I’ll keep pushing it further.

Arborfest doesn’t happen without the volunteers.

They’re the first in, the last out, and somewhere in between there’s always a few absolute crazies keeping the whole thing alive 😂

Massive respect to every single person giving their time, energy, and graft to make it all possible. Arborfest is what it is because of you.

Cambridge Half Marathon: done.

A fantastic effort from a brilliant group brought together by The Three Horseshoes, Comberton, in support of the Stroke Association.

Together, we raised just over £7,000, and these few clips hopefully capture some of the fun, team spirit, and commitment that made the day so special.

Part of the documentary looking at how social media shapes the way this work is shared.
Filmed in some of the most epic scenery I’ve ever captured.
