Because nature is the ultimate equaliser for camera nerves.

When you're indoors under heavy, hot studio lights, it’s hard not to feel self-conscious.

But when you step outside, the environment does the heavy lifting.

The lighting is soft, the background is dynamic, and your shoulders naturally drop.

It’s amazing how a change of scenery can completely transform how you feel in front of the lens."

Street photography can be unpredictable, and that’s exactly why it’s so rewarding.

If you're looking to hone your skills and move past standard snapshots, join me at The Hayes on Saturday 27th June.

We’ll be working through a series of diverse, practical challenges designed to push your composition and timing.

It’s a great opportunity to ask those deeper technical questions and experiment alongside a small group of like-minded photographers.

Tip: Experiment with a slow shutter speed (around 1/8s to 1/15s) and intentionally pan your camera along with a moving cyclist or pedestrian.
Getting their face sharp while the background blurs gives an incredible sense of city speed.

Our abstract photography class in Cardiff on Saturday was a nice change of pace.

We had dry weather, a small group, and two hours dedicated purely to the art of seeing details rather than the bigger picture.

We dived quite deeply into the "how" of abstract photography, practicing how to remove context from a subject to create something entirely new.

It was great to watch everyone experiment with their angles, turning ordinary everyday surroundings into very striking, artistic images.

It really proved that you don’t need grand landscapes to find a compelling photograph.

Thank you to everyone who came along and shared their thoughts, questions & unique perspectives.
