A few images from the weekend with a dear friend Helen, she got me out of retirement from nature for one last weekend of fun, which i do miss, I do miss my passion for dance and cheer, and always will, but….the body says no now, as do the fingers, shoulders, and bottom says, back to nature xx
The photographer part in me doesnt miss having to set DX/FX constantly, the look left/right/centre/p*eping…horizontal/verticle, oh shes learning right into a rotate followed by an obvious Jump, into a land and roll, Oh left is a tumbler going into back flip followed by a step over from the right….who to choose???? Oh and you have 300 more routines to do next, who all want the best shots you can do…but no pressure, oh your cards hot, your battery is low and your card hasn’t been replaced and you only have 1000 shots left with 3 routines before awards..oh and you need a p*e, but cant go, you havnt slept as the hotel bed was like sleeping in a cardboard box, and you have a headache from looking through a tiny hole in the camera at 1” people with your right eye, while your left is looking also to not miss your left side blind spot, hoping that you got that once in a weekend shot for a parent that loves to see their kids pictures.
With all that, I STILL LOVE TO GIVE PARENTS GREAT images, you guys deserve it, as do the kids doing the routines.
So a tip for all parents, grandparents and students. Get to know your event staff, you can tell them where you are in a routine/team, tell them your a back spot in cheer and never get pics, or a base that wants an image, or you constantly get missed, we will always try our best to remedy this for you. Best of all we always love feedback, so if it’s good, or bad we want to know, so we all learn to provide the images we know you deserve, and appreciate.
Sorry for the rant but events are hard work for everyone and memories are made in pictures/video, always looked back on by seniors, as well as mini dancers/cheerleaders with fond memories.
