Frederick Charles Keenor wasn’t just a hard-tackling defender with over 500 appearances for his hometown club—he was a survivor. Before his footballing triumphs, he fought in WWI and suffered a severe thigh wound at the Battle of the Somme. 🤕 Defying doctors who considered amputation, he relentlessly rebuilt his fitness to return to the pitch. 💪🏻

His defining comeback culminated in 1927 when he captained Cardiff City to a legendary 1–0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley. 🏆 Almost a century later, his triumph remains a unique legacy: the only time the FA Cup has ever been won by a team outside of England. Immortalized in bronze. ⚽️
