Meet our photographer Leah!!! 😁😁photography

“Hey everyone, I’m Leah and I’m going to be exhibiting my work in The Art Of Light on the 30th April to the 5th May.

I’ve been interested in photography for a long time, first studying it for my GCSE’s, then for my A-Levels, and finally at university. Throughout the years, I’ve experimented with so many different subjects and mediums but landscapes, nature and wildlife will always have a special place in my heart.

I can’t wait to share my work with people at the exhibition! It’s such an exciting experience to be a part of.”

Everyone, welcome to our exhibition at the cathedral in Carlisle!

And now for our next photographer of the team: Jade

“Hey everyone, I’m Jade Finn, and I’m showing some of my work at The Art of Light exhibition from April 29th to May 5th.

My photographic background has mainly been portraits of family and friends, but I’ve been venturing out into landscape which I’ve been enjoying and will exhibit.

I’m excited to share my work with you all and I hope to see you there!”

Introducing our next photographer from our collective: Elliott.

"My name is Elliott Smith, and I’m a student photographer in my second year at the University of Cumbria with interests currently in Landscape and Street Photography, with my style taking inspiration from earlier artists such as Eugene Etget and Ansel Adams to 20th-century pioneers such as Lee Friedlander and Walker Evans.

I first started in photography in 2019 at college and found the photographic process to be a perfect fit for making a creative and enriching career out of, and since then I have sought to create images that tell a story about both the locations and the people and stories that unfold in them.

In the future, I am hoping to use my skills to work in either photographic journalism or television industries."

I am exited to say we have another photographer, meet Neil! 😁😁.

“i all!! Im Neil, one of the 2nd year photography students displaying at The Art of Light Exhibition this year from the 29th of April to the 5th of May.

My background is in motorsport photography, specifically rallying. I’ve been to every round of the modern day Scottish Rally Championship at one time or another, from the Speyside Stages in Elgin to the RSAC Scottish International Rally in my home town of Dalbeattie. I’ve also ventured over to Emerald Isle of Ireland for the world renowned Donegal International Rally, which to date is the best experience I’ve ever had in this field.

I’m really excited to get involved with The Art of Light and display my work from the East Riding Stages and the Malcolm Wilson Rally as well as work from an advertising brief for mountain biking.

Hope to see you there,
Neil”

Hi, my name is Eve Parkin and this year, I'm really excited to be involved in the Art of Light exhibition.

Typically, I like to work with experimental techniques to create beautiful stills, whether they’re outdoors or in the studio. In the past, I have also experimented in the darkroom and with videography.

More recently, I've been experimenting with more contemporary techniques to reflect on the changes in our landscape; in which I am excited to show my new work in the exhibition this April/May

Any donations to help fund the exhibition would be greatly appreciated
