For some of us, the road to motherhood isn’t a straight line.

I was diagnosed with PMOS (PCOS) in 2020 and suddenly a lot of things made sense - and still continue too with more and more research. Falling pregnant wasn’t as simple as we’d have hoped but with the help of metaformin and I fully believe my wee Gran, we have Mason.

I don’t share this for sympathy. I share it because I know how lonely that road can feel, and because the woman in the middle of it deserves to know she isn’t the only one.

If that’s you right now — I see you. And whenever your moment comes, in whatever form it takes, I’d be honoured to help you hold onto it.

She’s not just growing a baby. She’s holding the last of something, too.

These are the final weeks it’s just the two of them. The last bedtimes as her only one. The last time she’ll scoop just him up without another little person needing her too.

Becoming a mum again is its own kind of bittersweet — the joy of what’s coming, tangled up with a quiet grief for the season that’s ending. Both things, all at once. Nobody really warns you about that part.

So this, nose to nose, his whole face in her hands, the bump between them holding what’s next — this is the moment worth keeping. Not posed. Just held.

Ps a gorgeous photo from the archives x

There’s a particular kind of beautiful chaos to a family of four when the newest one is only a few weeks old. Everyone’s a little tired, everyone’s adjusting, and right in the middle of it all is this.

Some big brothers need a bit of coaxing. Not Freddie. From the moment he walked in, Freddie was all in - gentle hands, proud little face, checking on baby Brody like he’d been doing it his whole life.

Brody, you’ve no idea yet how much your big brother already adores you. But you will.

Thank you for letting me capture this season for you all 🤍

You think you’ll remember this.
But motherhood moves faster than memory.

The weight of them on your chest. The way they curl into you. The smell of their hair at three weeks old. You think it’s alllll burned in but it isn’t.

These photographs aren’t *just* about beautiful images. They’re proof this happened. Proof of the version of you that existed in this season. Proof of the way they fit in your arms before they outgrew it.

Quiet, baby-led newborn sessions in my Carluke garden studio. No “good baby” required.
Just you, them, and the kind of stillness this season deserves.

Sessions from £425 — limited monthly availability. Best booked while you’re still pregnant.

I’ve been noticing something in my feed lately and I can’t not say something about it.

AI profile photos. AI generated brand visuals. Beautifully polished, technically perfect, and completely disconnected from the actual human behind the business.

And look, I use AI tools myself, this isn’t an anti-AI rant, Claude helped me put my thoughts together nicely on this haha!. But there’s a difference between using AI to work smarter and using it to replace showing up as yourself.

If you’re a business owner and people can’t see the real you online - your actual face, your genuine personality, the human behind what you sell - you are making the sale so much harder than it needs to be.

Honestly? A slightly wobbly selfie in good light will always beat a generated image of someone who doesn’t exist. Because it’s real. And real connects.

Before I photograph anyone I learn their story first. Because I’m not trying to make you look good — I’m trying to make you look like you. There’s a massive difference.

If you’ve been hiding behind an outdated photo, an AI image, or no photo at all - this is your sign. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be present.

And if you want headshots that actually feel like you, get in touch. 🤍

You think you’ll remember all of it. You won’t.
Not because of anything you did, or didn’t do. Because that’s just what time does.

The weight of them on your chest. The way they smelled. How tiny their hands were wrapped around your finger. The chaos of a Tuesday morning that felt utterly unremarkable — until it wasn’t.

This is why I do what I do. Not to take pretty pictures. To give you something to hold onto when the memory starts to blur.
