Today I want to wish the most incredible woman, my sweetest friend Suzy Rook, the very best of luck as she takes on one of the toughest challenges imaginable – swimming in the icy Arctic waters near the North Pole.

Most people will see the swim and think about the freezing temperatures, the ice, the distance and the physical challenge. But those of us who know Suzy see something much bigger.

We see the woman who faced cancer with unbelievable courage.

We see the friend who never stops showing up for other people, even when she is carrying her own battles.

We see the mum, the teammate, the social worker, the community champion and the person who somehow manages to make everyone around her feel stronger.

Last year brought challenges that would have broken many people. Yet Suzy met them with determination, resilience and the same infectious smile she always wears. After her thyroid cancer diagnosis and treatment, she didn't just focus on recovering. She decided to turn her experience into something that could help others.

This swim is for two charities that have been there when people needed them most: the Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust, supporting those affected by thyroid cancer, and Back Onside, helping people struggling with their mental health. Both causes are deeply personal to Suzy and represent the support, hope and understanding that can make all the difference during life's darkest moments.

I've watched Suzy train through cold mornings, dark days and every kind of Scottish weather. I've seen the commitment, the sacrifices and the determination behind every single dip. But more importantly, I've seen the heart behind it.

This challenge isn't about proving how tough she is. Anyone who knows Suzy already knows that.

It's about giving back.

It's about turning pain into purpose.

It's about showing others that even after the hardest chapters of your life, there is still strength, hope and adventure ahead.

Suzy, words will never fully express how proud I am of you. You inspire people every day without even realising it. Your courage has already touched so many lives, and this swim is another reminder of the remarkable person you are.

As you step into those freezing Arctic waters, know that an army of friends, family, teammates and supporters will be cheering for every stroke.

You've already won our hearts long before you reach the finish.

Good luck, my beautiful friend. Swim strong, swim proud and know that we couldn't be prouder of you.

We love you. ❤️ Also be less busy so I can spend more time with you 😂 Suzy Rook

✨ Beautiful Katie ✨

I loved capturing this special time for Katie. Maternity shoots are such a wonderful way to celebrate the excitement and anticipation before a little one arrives.

I can't wait to meet and photograph the magical baby these two adorable humans have created! 💕

Mumma Guilt!

A little note to the mummas growing a new best friend for their baby 🤍

When you're pregnant with your second, nobody really talks about the guilt.

The guilt of knowing your first baby has only ever known you as theirs.

The guilt of wondering if they'll feel replaced.

The guilt of knowing that one day very soon, your arms, your lap, your attention and your heart will have to stretch further than ever before.

I think every mum quietly wonders the same thing:

"Have I changed our relationship forever?"

And the answer is yes.

But not in the way you're afraid of.

Because one day, they meet.

One day your baby reaches out for the tiny person you've been growing.

One day they're giggling together in the back seat, whispering secrets you aren't invited to hear.

One day they have someone who knows their childhood as well as they do.

Someone who will remember the family holidays, the bedtime stories, the traditions, the chaos and the love.

And suddenly all that guilt feels a little ridiculous.

Because you realise you never took anything away from your first baby.

You gave them someone.

A teammate.

A partner in crime.

A forever friend.

You aren't just growing your family.

You're growing a relationship that will hopefully outlive you.

And that is one of the most incredible things a mother can do. 🤍

He was hoped for.
Prayed for.
Dreamed of.
Waited for.

And now he's here. 🤍

Baby Hugo.

Spending time with Abbie, Cole, and their beautiful family as they welcomed their precious little boy was an honour I'll never forget.

There was so much joy in the room.
So much gratitude.
So much love.

You could see it in every glance, every cuddle, every tiny hand reaching out to meet their baby brother.

But woven quietly through this story is another kind of love too.

A love that remembers.

Throughout Hugo's session, we included a small teddy bear—a beautiful tribute to his twin sibling, whose time here was far too brief, but whose place in this family will never be forgotten.

Both are loved.
Both matter.
Both help shape the story of a family.

And while Hugo's story is only just beginning, it will always carry the quiet presence of the sibling who journeyed alongside him for a little while.

Welcome to the world, sweet Hugo.

You are cherished beyond words. 🤍🧸✨

And to the little soul who couldn't stay—your family carries you with them, always.

Trigger Warning ⚠️ Child Loss

The Way She Holds Them

I met her before the world split in two.
Back then, my camera captured a family in motion.

Theia's laughter seemed to arrive before she did. Seven years old and impossible to ignore, she filled every frame with life. Hudson was never far away, being snuggled by his family and face lovingly brushed by big sister Theia constantly. Hudson would watch his sister closely, learning about the world simply by following her through it.

Their mother spent most of our sessions doing what mothers do.

Straightening collars.

Brushing hair from eyes.

Laughing at things that weren't really funny.

But soaking in her babies sweet giggles.
Holding everything together without anyone noticing.

That is the thing about mothers. They are often the invisible thread running through every photograph.

You don't realize how much they are holding until you see what happens when life asks them to carry the impossible.

Years later, I stood behind my camera again.

The family was smaller.

Theia was no longer by her mumma's side.

Then Hudson left mumma's loving arms a few years after, to be held in Theia's

There are losses so profound that language feels inadequate beside them. Losses that make words seem small and fragile.

I remember wondering how a heart survives the loss of one child.
I could not imagine surviving two.

And yet there she stood.
Not untouched.
Not healed.
Not unchanged.
Standing.

The photographs were different now.
Grief was there.
You could see it in the quiet spaces.
In the smiles that arrived more slowly.
In the way memory seemed to sit beside them, present even when unspoken.

But something else was there too.

Her gorgeous boys.

The two sons who still looked to her for comfort. The two sons who still needed bedtime stories and reassurance and someone to tell them everything would be okay.

And every time I lifted my camera, I noticed the same thing.

The way she held them.
Not tightly.
Not fearfully.
Just completely.

As though every ounce of love she carried was flowing through her arms and into her children.
As though love itself had become an act of courage. The world often mistakes strength for hardness.

But that isn't what I saw.

I saw a mother whose heart had been shattered more than once and who somehow still chose tenderness.

Still chose love.

Still chose to show up.

When I look back through those photographs now, I see loss.

Anyone would.

But more than that, I see devotion.
I see a mother carrying grief in one hand and her children in the other.

And somehow refusing to put either one down.. Tracey doesn't go one day without talking about her babies. I also think it's important to share all stories. Your babies stories no matter how difficult they are I will always listen. I don't find it uncomfortable. I see the love in your eyes for them and the way you have always and forever will hold them. In your arm or in your heart.

Thank you Tracey for letting me capture yours ###x

☀️ Why I love summer…

The colours come alive, the energy shifts, and I am so ready for it 🌺
There are a few more beautiful shades coming your way too, and I honestly can’t wait to share them.

As much as I love soft neutrals, I’ll always believe kids should grow up surrounded by colour — bold, playful, joyful colour that reflects their big personalities and bright little spirits. 💛

Now help me decide…
Which colours are you loving most right now? 👀✨
I’m ordering new beauties soon and would love your favourites in the comments ⬇️

Also a little love for this gorgeous tot that was in recently. Mumma always loves a splash of colour so we had to go bold 🧡

Somewhere between the tiny newborn cuddles, the sleepy little smiles, the first steps, and growing up far too fast… this beautiful girl is about to become a big sister. 🤍

I’ve had the privilege of capturing JJ from just months old to now, and one thing that has never changed is the love between her and her mum. The kind of bond you can feel without a single word being spoken. The way she looks at you, the way she melts into your arms, the safety, the love, the pure comfort of her mumma being near.

Watching you both together has always been so special. There’s something so beautiful about a daughter knowing her mum is her safe place no matter what.

Lisa, you are the kind of mum children will always run back to no matter how old they get. Gentle, loving, patient, and completely devoted. Watching you raise your girl has been such a beautiful thing to witness, and now another precious little soul gets to experience that same love.

What a lucky baby. What a lucky family. 🤍
I truly couldn’t be happier for you all.

This sweet little mumma… ageing like the finest wine!! 🍷✨

Loved celebrating the end of her 30s. I’ve been lucky enough to capture nearly all of this beautiful decade for her — from the very beginning of motherhood with her sweet baby girl, through all the rollercoasters that came with growing her beautiful family, and finally the long-awaited arrival of her precious baby girl.

Her 30s were filled with love, growth, family, and the most beautiful memories. But now… get ready for Joanne in her 40s! 🎉

This is the decade where she’s going to grab every opportunity, laugh every single day, and truly love life to the fullest
