I had a very 'interesting' comment on my post on my page yesterday by someone who was very interested in the After the Coal Dust book. They were so interested that they wanted to feature me on their website in the 'author spotlight' feature. All for a 'small fee'.
It was from some 'group' called Hyphen Readers Club (although this seems to vary slightly.)
Just in case anyone else gets these unsolicited compliments and 'great offers' please consider the following.
1. Their website is on base44.app - a free service that can spin up a site in a few minutes.
2. They have 14K Facebook 'followers' and yet no content before August and no interaction.
3. The author photos on their site are AI generated.
4. The books they feature don't exist.
5. No registered domain, only a gmail address.
etc, etc.
I played along for a while until I got bored but just a warning to everyone about these scams
