Louise Farrell - Nature Photography

Louise Farrell - Nature Photography I love to spend my time & passion photographing nature. It’s my happy place

Wildlife and nature photography is all consuming for me. It’s almost like meditation or mindfulness. I can sit for hours waiting for wildlife to “do it’s own thing”. I’m intending to open an online shop shortly to be able to offer wall art, prints and cards. Watch this space!

That look.

Puffins are full of character, and this one had a wonderfully serious face.

I love photographing them up close like this. All that detail in the feathers, the colour in the bill, and those bright little eyes staring straight down the lens.

Tiny clown. Very dignified.

Not the softest face in the room… but every feather tells a story.

Nature isn’t always pretty. Sometimes it’s powerful, raw, and built for survival. This vulture has a keen eye, hooked beak, and that wonderfully bare head made for the job it does best.

The clean-up crew. The unsung hero. Quietly keeping ecosystems in balance.

Wild doesn’t have to be cute to be beautiful. Are you a fan of vultures?

Oh my goodness....I was amazed and absolutely gobsmacked to gain not one but two awards over the weekend for my wildlife photography from The Guild Of Photographers and the UKPPA, and a third award for my pet photography. I won the Birds Image of the Year along with the UKPPA (UK Print Photography Award) for Natural World. In addition I also won the Founders Cup for my dog photography!

These are the images which won - the Gosling "Under the Wing" was the winner of the UKPPA and again it won the Birds Image of the year. The Stag "Standing Proud" was in the top 3 of the UKPPA images.

I love that my followers here love my images and to have my peers recognise them as well is amazing. My mojo is well and truly back so look out for lots more photos!

Nature is so cruel at times. This is Nora, the oldest cheetah in the Masai Mara. She has sadly been killed by Bella2, a leopard.

The circle of life. She was so beautiful.

The males tend to be the stars of the rut at Bushy Park. It's lovely to see the relationships between the deer - especially when it's so cute like these females!

This big guy was still bellowing at Bushy Park despite the rut coming to the end for the season for the red deer. The Fallow deer season is just about to start.

A great day at Bushy Park with photography friends for the end of the red deer rutting season. This season has been very active - today was definitely the tail end of it but still plenty of photographic subjects.
