Poem by Milca (Mimi) Wilson
On the banks of the Boyne we gathered near,
Rain on our cloaks, laughter to hear.
Steel sang loudly ‘neath Irish skies,
With stories of kin and warriors’ cries.
Brothers beside us, family close,
Bound not by blood but love that we chose.
In acceptance we stood, both weary and strong,
Finding our place where all could belong.
Mud mixed with sunshine, thunder and cheer,
We all stood together with nothing to fear.
Armour may rust and banners might fall,
But joy shared by the Boyne will outlive us all.

Boyne Valley Viking Experience means a lot to a lot of people and the poem above is how it makes us feel. It is more than just an event, more than the battles and the goodies on sale. It’s about being accepted for who you are, loved for who you are and lifted up when you need it most. We are a family and if you need us, call us.
