Forests and woodlands are one of my favourite habitats to spend time in. Not only are they vitally important for biodiversity and the health of our planet but just being amongst trees is enough to seriously benefit our mental health.
Having just watched the superb which focuses on the spectacular woodland wildlife found across Britain, I was shocked to hear that now only 13% of our isles are covered by trees!
As I fondly look back on some tremendous forests that I have been privileged enough to visit around the globe, I hope that we can all work to conserve the forests that we still have and where possible, start to recover them. š²š³
