I’ve been quiet on here lately - shoulder surgery will do that. Recovery is going well, but it’s also given me a lot of time to sit with the state of the world and wonder how to show up here without it feeling completely tone deaf.

Something I know a lot of creatives are struggling with.

I don’t have a neat answer to that. But I keep coming back to this: sharing beauty isn’t the same as looking away. The world needs art. It’s a reminder that creativity, connection, and the human capacity to make something extraordinary still exist - and always will.

Not escapism. Just evidence.

Crumbling walls, candlelight, and a love story that feels like it’s been waiting centuries to be told.

A chance for me to test some new (old) cameras and film - and honestly, I love how these came out.

Tonight I’m treating myself to a little ‘medicinal’ tipple on the sofa while watching the Winter Olympics.

(Anyone else obsessed with the curling?)

Gradually easing myself back into work after my shoulder surgery at the weekend - feeling good despite the expected soreness. I actually think the after effects of the anaesthetic is the worst part.

Physio is happening, emails and enquiries are being answered, and the shiny new CRM system is *gradually* being updated.

And honestly, that’s exactly what makes them magic.

because in 15 years of photographing love stories, this was my very first proposal 🤍

Today is my birthday so it felt like a really good time to reintroduce myself and show my face.

I’m Claire. Hopeless romantic. Lover of cheese and dogs. Endless re-watcher of Schitt’s Creek (RIP Catherine O’Hara – that one hurt) and fully invested in whatever country’s version of The Traitors I can get my hands on.

When it comes to weddings I’m drawn to depth over noise and honesty over hype.

I care about people feeling comfortable and able to be themselves, without having to perform.

Warm, real, and raw celebrations – unforced and honest. Always.

Two completely different bridal looks, both equally stunning.

So I’m really excited to be heading to London next week for the press day, previewing their new collection.

Especially when every scroll tells you about another trend, another “must have”, another decision that suddenly feels urgent.

Wintering is a gentler approach to everything this time of year - so why not wedding planning?

It’s not about stopping.

And it’s definitely not about falling behind.

It’s just about creating a bit of space.

Choosing with intention.

And trusting how things FEEL.

This hasn’t been the easiest year… and I think it’s okay to say that.

It was, however, also full of joy and so many good things, both professionally and personally.

I want to be honest here. Much of the wedding industry is still recovering from the pandemic and after effects of that - my business included.

The industry has shifted in recent years, and navigating those changes hasn’t always been straightforward. And to everyone else finding their way through that too - I see you.

But I’m still here - still doing work I care deeply about, still grateful for the incredible people who trust me with it.

Looking ahead, I’m genuinely excited. 2026 is already full of so many exciting things - weddings, travel, collaborations, new projects.

Thank you for the support, the trust, and for sticking with me. Sending love, and so much excitement for everything 2026 has in store.

After their portraits, Holly & Tom took a quiet second. One of those pauses where everything catches up with you.

I was across the room photographing the Christmas tree and clocked it just in time. Too real not to lift the camera.

A winter wedding, candlelight everywhere, and that end-of-year feeling when the emotions sit right at the surface.
