Our clubs are back next week, and we currently have spaces available across our sessions!

If you’ve been thinking about joining The Click, now is a great time to get involved.

📷 EXPLORE — BEGINNER PHOTOGRAPHY

Ages 8–13

Monday: 4 spaces available
Thursday: NEW CLUB — spaces available

Explore is our beginner-friendly club, perfect for young photographers who are starting out, building confidence and learning the fundamentals of photography.

📸 CREATE — ADVANCED PHOTOGRAPHY

Ages 13–19

Monday: 3 spaces available
Thursday: 2 spaces available

Create is for photographers who are ready to take things further, develop their own style and work on more advanced photography and creative projects.

We currently have 1 space available.

If you’re looking to join with a sibling, we can accommodate 2 siblings together in this session.

Open and honest.

Sometimes we have bad photography days. It happens.

You can come up with ideas, you see the vision, you know the settings. But sometimes the day is against you, no reason, no explanation and it can be frustrating.

Here we have a tree-rat not cooperating, framing of the building just off, the main subject - the books not in focus (that was on me my head was not in the game), not getting the lighting right in the umbrella and not having a focus subject on the bridge.

If you have a day like this you can do one of two things;

1. Try and save an image or two through editing.

2. Let it pass. These days are going to happen, I can mope about it, get annoyed with myself but it won’t change anything.

Again, sometimes the day has other plans for you, and all your feelings are valid and should be acknowledged, but you just need to let go sometimes.

Your ideas are great and the next time you try them the day might just be on your side.

The Click Connect is a free session for teens who would like a chance to connect in a relaxed, welcoming space.

The Click Film

Something new is arriving on Tuesdays 5.00pm - 6.00pm

Each term will be a different theme and we work together to create our own short film.

First term: Thriller/Suspense

We’ll be exploring how to build tension, create atmosphere and tell a story on screen, with everyone having the opportunity to contribute to the finished film.

Starts 8th September
7 - Week term
£42 per term (£6 per session)
Ages 13-18

THE CLICK HOME ED

A daytime photography club for home educated young people who enjoy being creative, learning new skills and working on photography projects.

Sessions combine practical photography, creative challenges and individual projects, with plenty of opportunity to explore ideas and develop confidence.

It’s also a chance to meet other young people with similar interests and have a regular creative activity to look forward to each week.

Thursdays • 2:00-3:00pm

Photography changes when you move beyond simply learning how to use a camera.

CREATE is for photographers who want to develop their own ideas, experiment, build confidence and start finding their own style.

It’s also a place to get support with GCSE and A-Level Photography, whether you’re developing coursework, working on a personal project or need someone to help you take your ideas further.

The Click Photography Explore

For young children aged 8-13 who want to learn the basics, try new things and grow in confidence.

We’ll explore photography through practical, creative challenges and projects.

It’s not all about the camera.

It’s about somewhere to meet other young people who enjoy being creative and discovering what you can do with photography.

Mondays and Thursdays 4.30 - 5.30pm.

Here at The Click we encourage our members to find their own style and push their creativity.

In sessions we have term time projects that connect into a broad theme so members can explore and connect with others in the group or venture solo.

Each half term we go on photography walks that range from gentle strolls around local parks and reservoirs to local heritage centres and locations.

In sessions we
*Learn how to use our camera phone or a DSLR
*Learn photo editing on iPads with Affinity (this is very similar to Photoshop which schools use)
*Learn about famous photographers throughout the ages.
*Give time for members to bring in their school work for any tips or advice they might want for their GCSE or A-Level or their own personal projects.

The purpose built summerhouse doubles as a learning hub and a fully equipped photography studio that can also be booked (free for members) to build up their portfolio.

The groups are small so that everyone has 1:1 time or use the equipment provided. The small group also helps build connections with others within the group and helps quieter members find their voice and build on their confidence.

Due to keeping groups small we do have very limited spaces at the moment but we have started a waiting list. If this list increases then another group will be made to accommodate the numbers.

Personal note: Working with the groups I have it has been a pleasure to see friendships develop, members finding their own creative style and just generally the help and encouragement they give each other each week has been incredible.
