If David and Nick plan a wedding you know it is going to be something special!
Greeting guests a midday, followed by a stunning meal. After which the couple changed into their second outfit for their ceremony.

The plan was for an outdoor ceremony, but the beautiful backdrop of the Walton Suite provided the perfect ‘wet weather’ alternative and it looked stunning!

With a love of the stage and musical theatre, the ceremony was always going to be entertaining. In over 600 weddings I’ve never sung along to Dolly Parton after the ring exchange, and I doubt I ever will again, but it was wonderful and I wish it would catch on.
With the legal formalities completed and after a short interlude, guests returned to their seats to marvel in the theatrical performance, exquisitely delivered by their thespian friends, then onto the speeches, which turned out to be a revelation and was (imho) one of the most beautiful parts of the day.
Each and every guest took part, but they had no idea they were. On each chair, inside envelopes were a few typed sentences.
In order, each guest read out their lines and the couple’s story was told. It was a brilliant! A masterclass of writing, humour and a complete joy to hear how this gorgeous couple found each other.

I have nothing but admiration and love for David and Nick. Two brave, caring and fearless individuals who did it exactly as they wanted. Putting so much thought and planning into every moment of their day.

After suit change No3 it was onto the dance floor, where Craig (Sheffield Wedding DJ) filled the floor with the couple’s favourite songs.

What a belter of a day! One I won’t ever forget! With David Coates & Nick

Introducing Mr & Mrs Rutter

It’s been another crazy few days of weddings and I am trying to share as much as I can, but it’s not always possible when I am so busy.

Some weddings hit differently. There is no rhyme or reason for this, it’s just that sometimes everything aligns and magic happens.

The wedding for Kayleigh and Matt was exactly that! I can’t tell you why, but it just was the most perfect day!

Maybe the stunning setting, the perfect couple, awesome weather, the fun guests, the creative freedom, who knows what it was, but I loved each and every second of this wedding with Mr & Mrs Shaw.

Rather than go on and on about their awesome day I will let the images speak on my behalf, because I am not the greatest with words, but I do like to think, after 15 years I know what I am doing with a camera. 😜

It was also my first visit to Eyam Hall, and I hope to god it isn’t my last! Perfection!

It’s another wonderful visit to Hazel Gap Barn, this time for Eve & Aiden.

It’s was a fairytale of a day with a handsome groom, a beautiful princess bride and a horse and carriage. But the absolute star of the day was the couple’s dog Lottie, who was such a well behaved girl and stole everyone’s hearts, mine included!

With beautiful Summer sunshine and the gorgeous setting of Hazel Gap Barn it was simply perfect!

It’s almost the weekend, which is a busy one for me. Working Sat & Sun, then Tuesday and Thursday, so it’s going to be a little quieter on here for a few days.

I am still hoping to get all the teasers out on time, just like these from. Last weekend’s wedding for Heather and George. Another stunning wedding at Hazel Gap Barn, which is such a popular setting and provides the most beautiful backdrop for your vows.

The next adventure for Ailish and Harry is well underway after marrying a few weeks ago at Swancar Farm.
It was such a fun packed wedding and one I am excited to edit in full, but here’s a short real of some of the teasers from the happiest of days.

Currently editing this amazing wedding for Holly and Elliot at Hazel Gap Barn.

The venue is currently my second home, but I’m never complaining about that fact. Simply stunning in every way….and the food is incredible!

This wedding was so beautiful, Holly looked divine, and just look at those incredible flowers.

The Summer really does provide the most incredible blooms, and it’s always lovely to see how the colours are blended together to reflect the couple’s vision.

In Loving Memory of Mira 🤍

Some souls come into our lives leaving the biggest paw prints on our hearts that can never be erased. Mira was one of those souls!

Mira’s story began with unimaginable suffering. She came from Romania after horrific abuse and being left for dead. By some miracle she was found in time by kind, compassionate people who refused to give up on her. Because of their kindness she was given a second chance - a journey that eventually led to our family.

Despite everything she had endured, and losing a back leg, Mira was perfect. She showed us what true resilience looked like, facing every day with courage and quiet strength, often masking her pain, but always with a heart full of unconditional love. ❤️

For fourteen wonderful years Mira was far more than a dog. She was our loyal companion, our comfort on difficult days, our shadow, our protector, and most of all, part of our family.. She taught us that love doesn’t need words, only presence.
Her gentle spirit, unwavering devotion and beautiful soul filled our home with happiness in ways that can never be measured.

As time caught up with her and her little body began to weaken and slow we were faced with the hardest decision any family can.
Out of pure love, in her bed with her family surrounding her she was peacefully helped onwards to cross that rainbow bridge. Through tears we knew it was the greatest final gift we could give her.

Our hearts are absolutely shattered.

The house feels quieter, even with our pup Annie. There is an emptiness that can never be filled and we will miss Mira every single day.

For me, she was my loyal companion, my soul dog. She was beside me ever minute I was at my desk, which was thousands of hours, with each wedding edited, she was by my feet, checking I was ok and letting me know she loved me.

Mira, thank you for trusting me with your heart after the world had been so cruel to you. Thank you for every wag of your little tail, every comforting cuddle, every slow walk or buggy ride, every look that said more than words ever could.

You were my favourite hello and my hardest goodbye.
Run free beautiful girl. 🌈🐾🐾🤍
