Based on the West Sussex & Hampshire border Growing up, I cherished the old family photos tucked away in photo albums in my parents’ attic, the ones that held whole stories in a single frame. Now, as a mother myself, t
hat feeling has only deepened. I know how quickly the seasons of motherhood change, how rarely the person behind the camera ends up in the picture, and how precious it is to be able to look back and see yourself in those moments too. Elly Rose Photography has been part of my life since 2013, but motherhood reshaped the way I see the world and the way I shoot. It taught me the beauty of the unposed and the imperfect. Your story is already beautiful, my work simply honours it. My approach is slow, gentle, and unobtrusive. Shaped by years of documentary-style work in my day job and by the chaos of raising my own little ones. I guide when needed, but never force, letting natural connection lead the way. The way you hold your newborn close, the way siblings lean into each other without thinking, the way your family fits together in a way only you can. My work is soft, natural, and minimal, created for the little hands that will one day look back at the people who loved them first. And if later in life my daughter ever picks up a camera to be “like mummy”, like she already often does, I hope she sees that motherhood didn’t hold me back. It inspired me to create something meaningful, something lasting, something for families just like yours.
