Chasing fire with Walter. 🔥

I am obsessed with his silhouette in this action shot. You can even make out the individual hairs of his wire coat.
This image is your reminder to make time for a sunset walk over the next few days.
With the temperatures climbing yet again, I’ll be making the most of the sunrise and sunset walks with Levi & Walter. Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Happy 7th Birthday, Levi! 🎈

Seven years of adventures across the UK, laying in the sunshine, cuddles on the sofa, drooling whenever I eat an apple, making me laugh when I needed it most, and being by my side through everything life has thrown our way over the past seven years.

You're my muse, my best friend, and the reason I picked up a camera in the first place.

I honestly can't imagine life without you.

Happy Birthday, my sweet boy. 🤍

Sweet Zoe 🤎

A stunning young Whippet I had the pleasure of photographing last year.

I’ve always thought Whippets are such elegant dogs and Zoe was no exception. From her expressive eyes to her stunning markings, isn’t she absolutely beautiful?

Meet Daisy, a beautiful Sussex Spaniel.
A vulnerable native UK breed and goodness she was such a joy to photograph.

Daisy is captured here running through the woodland in that soft, evening light that makes everything feel a little bit magical. 🤍

A little throwback to spring 2022, it doesn’t feel like four years have passed.

Before we know it, the heathlands will be covered in shades of purple as the heather begins to bloom.

But if you ask me, heather is beautiful all year round.

When it’s not in flower, the soft earthy tones create a completely different feel. Rich textures, warm colours, and a natural backdrop that lends itself beautifully to the colour harmony I love to create in my artwork, especially for dogs like Ted.

Are you a fan of the purple blooms, or do you prefer the simple beauty of the heath before it flowers? Either way, I’m really looking forward to seeing the heath transform over the coming months and photographing amongst the blooms again this year. 💜

Undoubtedly, this is one of the most magnificent neck fluffs you’ve ever encountered just look at that pre hand-stripped, fluffy goodness!

This photo of Walter, taken in 2023, was the first studio image that made me realize, "I’m really starting to grasp this studio work."

Toward the end of 2024, I decided to revisit the image and give it a bold new life in monochrome. I was thrilled when this newer edit earned a Gold award from The Society of Photographers for my January 2025 submission in the pet portrait category!

I've put the original edit in the comments. This version is in colour, which features an added texture to the background. This was the process before I acquired the fantastic fine art backdrops I use now.

Which version do you prefer? 👀

Meet Coco, she's a beautiful Ragdoll. 🤍

I’ve never featured a cat on my main grid before, but one look into those blue eyes this morning on the PC and I couldn’t resist sharing her.

She was the first cat I had the pleasure of photographing a few years ago, and I can’t believe I’ve not shared her here yet!

Have you ever considered a photoshoot for your cat? Keep your eyes peeled for new information soon…

Who stole the cream?

I absolutely love creating humorous studio images that are full of personality, and this particular shot of Levi stands out as one of my all-time favourites. It's a delightful and playful portrait that captures his cheeky spirit.

Levi's favourite thing in the world is cream, he is an absolute fiend for it!
As a treat, I allow him (and Walter) to have a pup cup from time to time. But given half the chance, I know he would steal a pot of cream....or several! So, I wanted to create a portrait that shows him "caught in the act”, complete with evidence on his nose. I had to use small amounts of cream and time the capture perfectly to achieve exactly what I envisioned.

To capture fun licking shots like this, I often use a little bit of cream, peanut butter, or liver paste (depending on allergies and food motivation). These tasty treats lead to wonderfully expressive licking portraits that make me smile every single time, and best of all, it's fun for the subject!
