Monochrome Seal Pup Portrait.
I like practising with monochrome edits as it's not something I do regularly, and this photo in particular really stood out to me as a potential.

Me and slowly approached a herd of fallow deer through the thick woodlen with the wind against us so they could not smell or see us - so they were not scared off.
I was rewarded with this real intermet moment between a female fallow deer and its fawn. ☺

**GRAPHIC CONTENT!**
**************************
Full Disclosure, what you are about to see is graphic! But if you can stomach it, the message is very clear about the danger urban wildlife face.
I saw this young fox static, lieing on the side the road on my way into town today. This unfortunetly is a common sighting during the year, with the region I live in we have main roads - deathly corridors from one farmers field to the next. Wildlife will take the risk of crossing these 2 lanes of road with probably not much knowledge of the danger they face by doing so. But they do so in search of food, teritory and a or potential Den. They do this to survive, the irony in it extremely saddening! On this occasion I felt compelled to move the young fox further onto the verge where it may lay in peace on the grass, so it didn't become the disfigured mess that 100s of tires will make of it once it is too close to the edge.
I'm not always vocal about these matters, but over time I've come to love and appreciate what we have, and what we as a race have done to cause this outcome. Mass over development, habitat destruction and global warming, pastic pollution. The list goes on! I normally keep it bottled up in side, but I feel I need to express it now more than ever. If we don't act now. What will we have left in a decade, maybe even 2 to 3 decades? You don't have to make all the changes immediately, but working on the small changes over time can make a big difference.
If you don't know where to start. Ask yourself simple questions. Water, how many plastic water bottles do you buy, try metal? When you go to deli or meat counter, ask if you can put it in a container to reduce plastic. Try refill stores, I've found awesome refill grocery store where I live and will be exploring this and telling my parents about it. Be excited by the simple changes you can make. We worry, but just trying makes a big difference and means you care. Phew, ok my big rant over. Please feel free to share any tips or share opinions. Senible discussions though please, we have a nice community here. No bad mouthing. ☺
Have a nice day everyone.

This was a truely magical moment, at first I was trying to photograph a buck I saw through the thick wooden, but once it walked out of sight I turned around to see this magnificent adult Stag standing very relaxed few yards behind me - must have been laying in the autumnal bracken for camouflage. It stared me down for a minute or so. It did not move for almost 10 minutes. I didn't dare disturb it, so I stayed where I was until it moved off naturally.

The King of the New Forest 🦌.
There is no better way to start off this series, than with my first ever sighting of a truly wild Red Deer Stag. On the first day of the trip me and made an early start to scout for the local Red Deer. The weather forcast for the whole week was quite awful, with heavy rain and wind. But with a mixture of determination and stroke of luck we came across this adult stag about 20-30minutes into our walk. The rain and overcast conditions made the scene all that more dramatic. A experince I will never forget!

I'm off to the New Forest National Park Today for a week. I'm really excited to spend this time exploring this vast National Park and all it has to offer. I may be quiet on the posting side of things, but I will hopefully post a few story updates while I'm there 😊

Watching this angelic like bird as it glides through the air is mesmerising. I loved these series of photos as it shows the moment it spots it's prey, and starts it's dive. Putting down the camera every so often I would watch with my own eyes and truly admire the agility and stealth of this beautiful bird. .

After my last encounter with the local Barn Owl, I've made it my new mission to observe this wonderful bird as much as I can. The only catch is a lot of very early starts 😴. To make sure this time I was in the field before the owl, I arrived at the field at roughly 5.30, about 1 hour before Sunrise. After waiting for almost a full hour there was no sighting of the owl. But as I walked along the edge of the field, just minutes later it flew right past me from the nieghbouring field. After putting on a mesmerising display in front of me, last minute I was able to switch to my other camera where I capture this shot as it flew directly at me! 😱😱

The Barn Owl πŸ¦‰
With roughly 5hrs sleep I woke up at 5.30 and made my way to my local reserve in search of foxes just before sunrise. At roughly 6am I arrived at the last known postion of the fox. With none in sight, I approached the corners silently, in case it was around the corner. There was no fox, but the unmistakable Barn Owl. At this point, I had never seen a Wild Barn Owl, let alone in my local area! With a sudden rush of adrenline I held down the shutter button, capturing as many photos as I could take as it glided across the long grass silently. When it dived for it's prey, I would move closer as I was still too far away. After 2-3 attempts it stayed on the ground, almost certainly concentrated on it's succesful catch. I waited until it emerged from it's last known position. Within 30 seconds it had taken off and vanished into the distant fields. .

Good Day Everyone. For those who have been following me for the past year, you know I have been working really hard to observe and document local foxes in my home town. Over this period of time I have learnt so much and have had an amazing time watching these amazing creatures. .
With that said I have been working on a side project I have named Urban Fox Stories. Instagram is a great place to post quick updates of my wildlife experinces, but I don't always have enough time to tell the full story. So with so many photos and memories accumulated over the last 12-14 months, I would love to share my most memorable experiences through more in depth stories.
These Stories can be found on my website on the Page: Urban Fox Stories, or by tapping the fox photo on my front page. These stories cover three of my most memorable experinces to date: Rosie, Midnight foxes and Mother Beth. .
I hope you enjoy reading these stories as much as I enjoyed writing them. I'd greatly appreciate any feedback if you could leave a comment on this post with any feedback of this type of content, and whether or not you would like me to continue updating this in the future. .
