Good evening all, this is a post on behalf of Andy's daughters and family.

We would like to thank everyone who came to Andy's "Leaving Do" last week. Although the weather wasn't quite what we'd hoped, he would have loved seeing everyone there having a laugh and a drink in his name.
We'd also like to extend that thanks to those who have sent Andy a private message or made a post in his honor - we've seen (hopefully) all of them. It's so heartwarming to read all of the kind words everyone has had to say and see all the pictures from his past crop back up again. He truly was an amazing man, and you are all a reflection of that.

We will soon set Andy's page as a memorial page, which means this will be the last post made. However, you are more than welcome to leave your own goodbyes, anecdotes, memories, or messages on his page whenever you like.
This page will be left mostly un-monitored, but please feel free to come back and view his photography any time. His photography will always be his legacy, and it deserves to live on.

All of his family would like to thank you for all of your love and support these passed few months, and we wish you all the best.

Hi everyone.
We, the family, wanted to update you on the plan for Andy's "Leaving Do" - as he wanted to call it.

The event will take place at Arun Yacht Club in Littlehampton on Saturday 5th July, starting at 1pm.
We will be waiting for the tide to go out, which should be around 4pm, and then his family will ride out on his close friend Chris' boat to scatter his ashes at sea. A wish that we are more than happy to carry out as it was one of his favourite places to be.
It will allow us plenty of time for everyone to share their memories and funny stories, laugh, cry, or offer comfort while we celebrate every amazing thing he accomplished in his life.
We have created an open event on his personal page for people to RSVP - a few of you keen eyed folks have already spotted this. This will allow us to make a note of numbers for the Yacht Club.

We hope to see you there.

A message from Andy's daughters and family.

It's with a very heavy heart that I have to announce that Andy passed away peacefully in his sleep early this morning, surrounded by his family in hospital.
We would like to sincerely thank his closest friends for all of your support over the last few years. You truly made a huge difference in his life.
The family would like to ask for privacy during this time.

Popped along to Chichester Cathedral yesterday afternoon with good friends Brianna and Maria for the Mars exhibit.
For me personally I was a little underwhelmed with it, the previous one they had done before was the Moon which was really impressive and had a lot more detail to it, this one of Mars was kinda like a very large round orange balloon with not the best quality printing on it, that's my personal view anyways.
Here's a selection of photos I took, some of them are taken using a fish eye lens which gives a great effect.

Had a really lovely evening out yesterday with good friends Nicky, Catrin and Tegan at Jack on the Green, Beach House Park, Worthing.
A nicely put together illuminated trail, though was very busy when we first got there but quietened down after 30 mins or so.

Managed to get a couple of images of Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan - ATLAS) over the last week, first one more scenic over Littlehampton Yacht Club at Littlehampton Harbour, the second image is from Kithurst hill through my 70mm telescope. It's currently moving away from us at an approx speed of 46 km/s, it'll not be seen again until it comes past again on it's 80,000 year orbit.
The last image is our nearest neighbour galaxy Andromeda, 2.5 million light year away.

Great show of the various services working together this afternoon after a small yacht lost control of it's rudder just before the harbour entrance, after dropping their anchor the strong currents just pulled them along and in closer to the beach. The couple onboard where rescued by the lifeguards and then looked after by the folks in the Foreshore office. RNLI Selsey Lifeboat was tasked but after arriving on scene they were stood down from what I understand as there was no danger to life and the yacht was now in shallow water. Littlehampton Littlehampton Harbour master, RNLI Lifeguards and HM Littlehampton Coastguard Rescue Team formed a plan to get the yacht back into the harbour.
Thats all from what I understood but I'm sure there will be a full statement at some point.
Anyways, great show of teamwork and a happy ending, all were safe and the boat now moored in the harbour, well done everyone!

Busy afternoon for the Harbour pilot and staff this afternoon, firstly taking Mv Liva Greta out of harbour and then bringing in Walcon Wizard piling barge. Beautiful day for it though.
