Shot in my little home studio.

I love mantids and decided to get a tiny Ghost Mantis to rear and to help with my macro photography. I got him on top of some Spanish bluebell buds for sense of size, he really is tiny and fascinating to watch.

Port Solent

I was reading about how long exposure images can have an impact on how the human eye and brain interprets colours. It happened to be a nice evening and sunset that day so I set the camera up on my balcony overlooking Portchester lake with dark filter to allow long exposure. This image was taken with. Nikon D800 with a Nikon 24 -85 mm f3.5 - 4.5 lens. ISO50. 50mm. f29. 128second exposure

Bramante Staircase, Vatican Museum

While this perspective makes the staircase look like a single, continuous path, it is actually a double helix. It features two entirely separate flights of stairs: one for ascending and one for descending. This ingenious design allows for a constant flow of traffic in both directions without the two paths ever actually crossing.

I leaned into the Fibonacci-style spiral to create a natural leading line that pulls the viewer straight into the "eye" of the architectural vortex.
