I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving weddings like this.

A beautiful church ceremony followed by a marquee reception in the family garden, where everyone settled in as though they’d been doing this forever. It had that timeless, slightly nostalgic feeling that the film About Time captures so perfectly. Joyful, relaxed, and full of unique character.

Exactly the kind of day 35mm film was made for. 🎞️🤍

This isn’t my usual kind of post… but it’s one that feels worth sharing and I encourage you to take a moment out of your day to read this.

This is my Grandma and her partner Richard, my grandparents.

They’ve been together for over 25 years now, but their story actually began long before that.

Back when they were 18, they were high school sweethearts in the ‘60s. Life, however, had other plans. They drifted apart, built separate lives, raised families, and spent decades apart in completely different places.

Then, in their late 50s, something incredible happened.

After all those years, they found their way back to each other.

Since then, they’ve travelled the world together, creating a life filled with love and adventure. Watching them has always reminded me that sometimes life has a funny way of bringing the right people back together, no matter how much time has passed.

The first photo is them at 18. The second is one we recreated last year.

Fun fact, my grandma absolutely hates having picture taken, I honestly haven’t met someone who dislikes it more!!

But I think she did an amazing job 🥰

I also think if you asked her she would tell you that it actually wasn’t that bad, and that she might have even had fun!

So, so grateful to have witnessed and captured this incredibly special proposal for Lucy and Andie. 🤍

This moment had been in the works for around five months, with so much planning and anticipation, and it all paid off for the most beautiful afternoon.

Being trusted to capture such an emotional milestone was truly an honour. The nerves were definitely there as I hid behind a tree, doing everything I could not to be spotted (I think I pulled it off 😂), but every second was worth it.

Lucy and Andie have been such wonderful followers of my work on instagram for a long time now, so when Lucy’s enquiry landed in my inbox, I had a feeling it was going to be something special.

After the proposal in the most stunning setting, we spent some time capturing a few portraits while they soaked it all in. Their joy, excitement, and love for each other made for the most beautiful gallery, and I hope you can feel just how much they adore one another through these photos.

Congratulations again, Lucy and Andie. Thank you for trusting me with a memory you’ll treasure forever. 🤍
