Geovana and Will and their Scottish Brazilian fusion wedding 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇧🇷

What a day we had over in Southsea for Geo and Will’s Day on Sunday.

I have been looking forward to their day for a while, and it was such a happy occasion to be a part of.

Geo’s family came all the way over from Brazil for their day, and Southsea Castle was the perfect venue for their ceremony.

We had tartan ribbon at the entrance to the castle and a lot of kilts, as well as a surprise pipe band, who played as guests left the ceremony and it felt like we had our own mini concert with the amazing Hampshire Caledonian Pipe Band

Drinks, canapes, and photos followed at the castle before a very fun confetti walk on the bridge.

Geo and Will’s lovely doggie Paddy was also brought along to be a part of the celebrations and have some photos with his mum and dad!

We then all headed off up to Casa Brazil for a Brazilian feast and further celebrations, where more friends joined the party.

Such a fun wedding day to capture, and thank you both so much for having us Geo and Will. Enjoy your adventures in Scotland with your Brazilian family.

Capturing 35mm film at weddings 🎞

It has taken me a while, but after some encouragement from the lovely Tom Langford - Hampshire Wedding Photography (whose film work I have admired for so long) I thought it was about time I shared some of the 35mm film photography I have been capturing at weddings since last year.

Film photography is how I trained as a photographer. My degree was 100% film based and I shot 35mm right up to large format, developing, scanning and printing my own photos.

Over 20 years later, I am back shooting film again (although I now use the wonderful The Film Safe | Developing Lab to do my developing and scanning).

It really is a joy to see this medium come back and gain popularity again, and although I sold all of my film equipment after my degree, I have bought and now use the same Nikon camera I did back then, which is lovely.

Going forward, I will now be including two rolls of film at each full day wedding booked, and the scans will be added to the final gallery received. You can also add film as an additional extra too if you are not having full day coverage.

I have added to my film camera collection since last year, too, and now own and shoot with the following cameras..

F100 + 50mm

Yashica T5 (perfect for the prep and party elements of the day)

My own personal film camera is an Olympus OM1n with a 24mm, 50mm and 135mm.

All these photos were taken on a mixture of Kodak Gold, Kodak Portra and Kodak T-Max.

I can't wait to capture more film alongside my digital photos again soon, and if 35mm is something you would be interested in at your wedding, then do get in touch.

Matthew and Jasmine at Upwaltham Barns ❤️

On Wednesday we were back at Wedding Venue 📍West Sussex to capture Matthew and Jasmine’s summer wedding, and what a day they had too!

We were again blessed with the most perfect weather, a little cooler than late too with a breeze making it much more comfortable.

I cannot tell you how special their wedding was, and the number of personal touches and details they brought to their day was amazing., They made and crafted so many items, and Alex and I were delighted to see a cricket theme to their day as well.

A beautiful ceremony, drinks in the courtyard, great food and the perfect golden hour in the evening as well, where I even manged to find a backdrop I had never used after capturing over 40 weddings at this beautiful venue.

It was such a treat to work alongside again and the three of us had such a fun time capturing M&J’s day.

So many pictures to share from their wedding so here are just a few so far, and a huge thank you as always to Upwaltham for looking after us so well.

Rachel & Kieran’s perfect summer wedding at Upwaltham Barns ☀️

On Saturday we were back at the wonderful Wedding Venue 📍West Sussex for Rachel and Kieran’s day, which could not have been more perfect!

Although we seem to be living in a permanent heatwave right now, there was a rather pleasant breeze on Saturday that kept everyone cool, whilst still being able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings at Upwaltham.

Their day was packed full of fun and laughter and had such and relaxed vibe that threaded throughout their day.

Upwaltham barns has such pretty backdrops for photos, and being surrounded by beautiful flowers and countryside fields means I am always in my element.

I loved the tractor positioned perfectly outside the barns, and we were also so lucky to be blessed with an amazing golden hour in the evening as well.

I have so much to share from their wonderful day, and a big shout out firstly to Upwaltham for looking after us so well as usual. It is like our second home, and we always feel so welcome.

R&K had an amazing team of suppliers to help make their day perfect, and it was fab to work alongside the brilliant Kevin Watkins Wedding Films again, who we always recommend.

We are looking forward to being back at the wonderful Wedding Venue 📍West Sussex again over the next few months and seeing Alex create more magic with the drone!

This weekend is a family one though as my sister is staying and we have some fun things planned.

After nearly 20 years of photographing weddings, I now know how important the balance is between work and family time.

I am still editing the beautiful May and June weddings we were a part of, but have given myself more space and time to do so this year, so I can also make memories with my family too.

We are looking forward to capturing some gorgeous Weddings over the next few months and a huge thank you to all the couples that have chosen us to capture their days, we really are having the best time. Sx
