We have started a free well being group at Odd Down Community Centre to support local young people with their mental health (age 13-19). Young people can attend a session with support from their parent/ carer/ friend or other family member to see if it would work for them. The group offers a range of distraction activities to try including fiddle toys, making slime (next week!!), relaxation techniques, sports, cooking etc as well as a safe space to talk and to give and received support and make new friends.

Starting back this September Chippenham Museum Photo Club! This friendly group of young photographers meet every week with new photography activities to take part in. Your children will be inspired to be creative and meet new friends. £3 per session, no booking required. They can bring any type of camera including phones.

📸Our young photographers will be available from 4. 30pm - 7.00pm -Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 May. Just message or ring the museum to secure a space.

All the photos including a community wall of everyone who has responded ( including the double dates) will be on display in the Yelde Hall, Chippenham throughout the Jubilee celebrations.

Free Photography Workshops

Two sessions giving tips and techniques for taking great photos on whatever camera you have, including a mobile phone, with Photoclub leader Kez.

Around the Museum: 10.30am – 12pm
Take part in a photography challenge hunting around the museum for the best objects to photograph.

Museum Objects: 1.30pm – 3.30pm
Join us as we handle and photograph a collection of museum objects. Learn about their history and how to photograph the object in a professional setting.

The museum’s afterschool Photoclub for ages 11 - 17 meets on Wednesdays in term-time 4.30 – 5.30, £6 per session. The club aims to improve self-expression and motivation, focusing on activities to help mental health and wellbeing while capturing great images and having fun. Contact the museum to join a free trial session.

Chippenham Museum is a Chippenham Town Council facility, open Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm with free entry.
