Even when I’m sitting here in a pub downloading the hundreds of photos that I took today on a photoshoot, I can’t help but see images appear in front of me that need to be photographed. I love this view from my seat in this Chiswick pub. This gentleman is always immaculately dressed in a pinstriped suit and sat in the same seat for as long as I’ve been coming here. I love that in pubs; everyone has their own seat. Which reminds me of the time I was in a large Wetherspoons, The Angel in Islington. It was early and there were about two other people in a pub that could seat about 200. I was working on my laptop, head down looking at the screen, when BANG! A rucksack smashed into the seat inches from me. I looked up and some old boy had deliberately thrown it because I was in ‘his’ seat. I went to open my mouth to explain to him the error of his ways, but I was so totally incredulous at the situation and thought it so bonkers, that I shut my laptop and moved to another seat. Always something interesting in a pub.

I certainly get to meet a wonderfully varied selection of clients. One minute I’m photographing an author in Tate Modern and the next, I’m in the studio of a Pilates instructor. This lady needed updated photo for her website, publicity and social media. I’ve photographed a few Pilates instructors now and I’m always exhausted by the end of the shoot, watching them go through their exercises. They’re somewhat fitter and more toned than I am. One day, maybe I’ll even try it. Maybe.

A walk in the woods today with my ‘new’ Fujifilm XPro3. I do love this camera. Small enough to carry everywhere, with the ease of a digital camera, but the feel of a film camera. I’ve taken quite a few this morning, so if you don’t like trees, keep scrolling.

Ok, last tree photo today. Probably. What a magnificent beast this tree was as I spotted it from afar in the New Forest today. I took several photos as I waded (that might not be the correct term) through a sea of ferns to get close to it. Lady sitting at cafe table. I wandered a long way yesterday with my camera. I rarely come to Lambeth, but each time that I do, I love the view of The Houses of Parliament from here. Rather than take a straight shot of it, as I walked past this little riverside cafe, I thought the lady sat there would make the photo more interesting. So I took one.

Running man. I took this some time ago as I wandered along Shad Thames in London. One of my favourite places and on this occasion it was even more beautiful with the gorgeous sunlight pouring down the street. Needless to say, there were joggers around (you’re never more than five feet from a jogger in London) and I thought having one of them running down the street would make the shot. Well, I stood there and each one ran past but stayed in the shadows. Hopeless. Eventually, I actually stopped this jogger as he approached me and asked him to run down the centre of the street in the sunlight and there was the shot. So if you ever need a jogger in your photo, just ask.
