Whilst reflecting on my role as a mother both inside and outside of marriage, I wanted to produce a photography lead installation piece that documented and intimately captured a child's dependency on their mother, and the hard work of running a family home, whilst challenging the aesthetic of traditional family portraiture. My subjects are friends and their children know me so blending in - the way I strive to work as a photographer- was easy and prevented choreographed shots, artistically framing moments of motherhood when a camera is typically absent, and the stress of daily life is present.
