There really is something special about the coast in the sunshine. We're lucky enough to live next to Scotland's first Voluntary Marine Reserve, which is also a busy wee fishing port too. St Abbs is a really special place, not just for it's beauty and fame (thanks Marvel!) but also the folk. Friendly, funny and welcoming people await walkers, fishers, divers, photographers and tourists.

Once travel restrictions are lifted, I can highly recommend EVERYONE to come visit, safely. You won't be disappointed!

Mr Fairwood did an INCREDIBLE job of catching the surprise visit from a Chinook this week and I had a blast catching the colours sparkling in the sun.

The other week we shared some photos from one of our local spots, Ayton Castle.
This week, we'd love to introduce you to our favourite photographic haunt - St Abbs. This stunning (and deservedly famous) village is not only our second home, favourite show off spot to visitors and close to where we got engaged but it's also where Mr Fairwood is on the volunteer lifeboats. As such, we spend a lot of time here either on exercise/rescue for Mr F or just wandering for Ms F.
The wonderful sunrise we've shared with you here was captured very early on Christmas morning, 2020. The light was incredible, the colours stunning and the village completely still. We'll never take this spot for granted, so be prepared for an influx of recent snaps in the coming days!

Today has been a day for checking out some new beauties, re-editing some old ones and seeing all our shots in a new light.

Some of these oldies are from our walk in Jesmond Dene, November 2019 and where we hope to capture our own wedding photos next September.
We've recently acquired a new friend in the garden, good ol' Phil the Pheasant. His incredible plumage has given us a few challenges capturing and editing to show it off in the best light. Hopefully we've done justice to the stunning colours he's able to show off. Mr Fairwood has done such a good job capturing his cheeky character!

We're so lucky to live in such a beautiful area. A couple of weeks back, on a lil' exploration walk to Ayton Castle we stumbled across some genuine beauties!

Just over a year ago, I took myself off to make use of my National trust membership and have a wander round the gorgeous Cragside. It was an absolutely FREEZING day, but that made for some absolutely stunning shots which I remain super proud of. Sadly the house was closed, but the gardens I was able to take advantage of and experiment in.
