When Lou Lou la Duchesse de Rieฬre tells you "I want to be an angel!!" You best believe I'm going to deliver!
As a dynamically disabled artist I rarely leave the comfort of my home studio, but when a long-discussed opportunity arose to shoot with this International Burlesque Icon a mere two hours drive away, I packed up way more s**t than I needed and got my best mate Jolene Smyth to chauffeur me to sunny Hull where LouLou was performing at Highway to Hull Burlesque Weekender. Like the old days, I got half a room to set up in and had to contort myself into some weird positions, but look what we created together ๐ absolutely obsessed with this shot, easily one of my all time favourites already.
I still don't like leaving my studio but I'd do it again to photograph this angel of a human ๐ฅฐ
Better get my thinking cap on to figure out how to top this should there be a next time ๐
Tech stuff: two continuous main lights, one behind the backdrop, one camera right with bare reflector, one cloud made with cushion fluff, glue and battery powered lights and an in-camera crescent of light made with the end of my shower curtain rail ๐
