As part of my trip to Uganda during a break away from building the playground we travelled to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Here we trekked through the forest for five hours in order to spend an hour with a family of amazing mountain gorillas (the Mishaya Family).
To be able to do this trek we had to have a permit. The money from this permit goes towards the conservation of these mountain gorillas of which there are less than 900 left in the world, making them a critically endangered species. However it's not all bad news as this number is on the rise thanks to systems like this and the input of tourist as well as the dedication of the park rangers!

Did my first newborn photo shoot yesterday with gorgeous baby Leia and her beautiful family!

Another rest day took us West of our usual location and closer to the border between Uganda and the DRC. Here the volcanic range was clearly visible.
On our walk we stopped to meet a local craftswoman who showed us all the items she makes.
Later on in the day we also stopped at a coffee plant where we were shown the process of coffee making from beans being planted to roasting to how to pour the best coffee.
